can you replay the games on ESPN+? I’ve honestly never tried

I've only ever used the free version on Roku where you sign in with your cable subscription when I forget to dvr some of the US soccer games but there were options for replays for that and there's always other things listed for replays so I don't see why they wouldn't have it for the NHL too.

The problem with this virus since day 1 when it was a threat to the US is politicians decided to make it part of a platform. Period. Dot. End of story. Hard right or hard left, people took stands, meanwhile the average American said fvck it, give me my chip.

and no, I’m not starting a debate.

Agreed plus the fact that so many people are absolute selfish morons. My disappointment in the human race is at an all time low over all this. Members of my family actually fought in World War 2, actually made real sacrifices to try to protect this country and the world. In our present time all we had to do was wear some masks and get a free shot to protect one another and ourselves and we could have ended this sh!t months ago and moved on with our lives but instead we are dragging this out and we have people acting like we are oppressed. I find it absolutely infuriating.

Not gonna trail off too much politically but I think the two party system is broken and I find that the vast majority of politicians are attention seeking ego maniacs and that they all care more about themselves and their parties more than what's best for the general public. It always feels like it's choosing the candidate who still sucks but doesn't suck as much as the other options.

Red or Blue, it's a different shade of poo.

So are the ‘exclusive’ ESPN+/Hulu games also gonna be on MSG+ here in NJ?

From what everyone is currently saying the answer is no

Yeah I have almost all the steaming services you can get and I'm still paying less per month than my mother and her optimum cable

I don't have optimum but have her call or do it for her and ask what current promos are going on right now, you're debating canceling, might switch to streaming, blah blah blah. Works almost every time to get put into a "promo" deal and get the bill lowered. Absolutely worth the few mins of time every bunch of months and I've lowered my bill considerably by doing this.

Thanks.  If that is the case I should be alright.  Worst comes to worst I can sign up for ESPN+ and then cancel since it appears a majority of the games are in November.

For a league that is way behind the other NA major leagues, the NHL seems to shoot themselves in the foot a lot.  Adding essentially a paywall/barrier is not how to grow the sport.

My personal plan is to just borrow a friend's Hulu account to watch just the 4 away games since I should hopefully be at the 4 home games.

So I have Hulu, but not ESPN+.  Do I need both in order to watch those games?

I have only gotten into the streaming game since COVID started so I am a little behind on these things.

I believe the games will be on both Hulu and ESPN+ but I'm not 100% on that. Makes sense though since it's under the same Disney umbrella.

I’m not saying it’s a good thing at all, but honestly, it’s 8 games you can watch for $35. If you are really cash strapped, you can get the 5 in November for $7.99 and only miss 3.

Again, while I don’t like the idea of it at all, and my opinions on national games have been expressed several times, it’s not really THAT big of a deal.

For me it's personally more about not supporting the idea of more exclusive streaming options. Everything has its own streaming service nowadays and it's gotten to the point of being ridiculous. People bitch and moan about cable pricing but to have all these streaming services plus a good internet connection it ends up being closer to the same price as cable to begin with.

I’ve never watched anything on ESPN+ and have had it for over a year as part of my Disney+/Hulu package.

    Glad I’ll finally use it.

Apparently it looks like the games would be on ESPN+ as well as Hulu so you technically don't need both it seems.

  9. In Devils news that I'm actually pissed off about. Apparently the Devils have 8 games that are exclusively on ESPN+/Hulu.

I'm not paying for more streaming services. This is exactly the type of sh!t I was worried about when ESPN came on board. I'd rather have had NBC stick around.

I haven't had cable in 10 years, never paid for center ice, and I rarely miss a game. Where there's a will, there's a way.

Are you watching live though? I know streams are readily available in places but if I'm not at the game unless it's the playoffs I very rarely watch Devils away games live.

They’re really leaning into being the new evil empire. But whatever. Their cap shenanigans were only mildly annoying tbh.

Speaking of Tampa, I saw my boy Ochocinco was with Stamkos the other night.

Didn't affect our team so I really didn't care

i actually really like that set up. No clue why but I do.

Yuck, too many thrown together colors and MPLS is stupid too. Can't wait for our Newark Bulldog throw backs. *puke*

I figured this was worth nothing outside the thread in the Marketplace.

So this year the NHL is making a change to the actual materials of the on-ice jersey.  They are switching from the current material to the Parley material that was worn during the All-Star game a couple years back in San Jose.  The material is either totally or partially made from recycled materials and falls in line with Adidas' initiative to go more green.

Now, some of you may or may not know that the on-ice MiC jerseys the players wear are actually quite a bit different than the ones Adidas sells to the public as "Authentic" which are made in Indonesia and made out of completely different materials that were called both AeroReady and Climalite (same thing they just changed names a couple years back).  The new "Authentics" Adidas will be selling to the public are going to be called PrimeGreen and apparently also with recycled material.  Below is an example of Adidas starting to sell Vegas jerseys using this branding.

This is also largely the reason why the past year or so Adidas has been dumping a lot of jerseys to discount retailers like Ross, TJ Maxx, etc.

    https://www.adidas.com/us/golden-knights-home-authentic-jersey/GT5633.html

I own a couple of the Red Bulls Parley jerseys. The league has been making them for a few years now and the entire league wears them for a game one weekend. The only difference is that they are always in either like a black/blue/white versions but that's more to call attention to keeping our oceans clean with their for the oceans campaign . I like the cause so I always buy them but I generally hate the color blue since I've been conditioned to hate that color lol They fit and feel very well though and I'd never guess they were made from some plastic thrown into the ocean. My only complaint is that they never seem to make enough of them so they can be a pain to get them, we all know there's plenty of plastic in the ocean so it shouldn't be difficult to make more.

If you have Netflix, I would advise you all catch the new documentary under the Untold series called Crime and Penalties.  It is about the Danbury Trashers who existed for only 2 seasons in the UHL back in 04-05 and 05-06.  Mike Rupp actually talked about his time when he was the guest speaker at the Meigray expo a few years back.

For those of you who don't know the background the long story short is: Mobster buys UHL team, puts his 17 year old son as President and GM.  The kid promptly decides to fill the roster with goons (such as Rumun Ndur) and later on players like Mike Rupp (he only played a dozen or so games with them).  The team turns into pretty much a real-life version of Slap Shot.

I went to a bunch of games during the lockout year, even have a jersey. The son use to be above the ice in like a suite and would scream and yell the entire game. Was absolutely hilarious lol
