  1. Well, that's what the Rangers do, folks. Keep it close and wait for a break.
  2. Hard to believe Callahan carries a cap hit of 4.275 million. That's a bargain, IMO. They've got a few guys underpaid which helps.
  3. I think they're playing with a healthy fear, too. Plus, they are exposing the Rangers defensive with their regs out. My only concern is can the Devils do what they've only done a handful of times (or less depending on how you look at it) and play this for 3 periods?
  4. As we've seen previously, a good period needs to be followed up with one. The Devils can not afford to let off their game and start making mistakes and giving them too many PP's. One too many turnovers for my liking, but they covered for each other well. Not a secret that you'll a different NYR come back out and want to skate and carry play. The Devils are going to have to not get caught sitting back. The NYR are in pretty much every game they play as they keep it close, so they won't be going away. If anything, this game will show alot about the Devils.
  5. Well, Clarkson is going to fight the biggest douche on the NYR roster outside of Avery. Why?
  6. I was thinking the same thing and hoping 10 more mins was tacked onto it.
  7. I actually had a good feeling about this one until Elias was ruled out. I've watched a fair share of NYR games and what they do best is where the Devils are exposed the most. The best matchup maybe the NYR PP vs the Devils PK.
  8. Eric Boulton-Tim Sestito-Cam Janssen Ugh...might as well spot the Rags a 1-0 lead to start the game. Still in disbelief any of these three players are in the NHL.
  9. MTL is just walking in from the point firing at will and it's usually when Larsson and Taormina are out there.
  10. That's a cheap shot. Rest assured the league will look at that one. Cole skated in with enough time to see Larsson's head was low then led with an elbow. Cheap play by a guy who has had his neck broken and should know better.
  11. My wife and i had a great time last night. Sort of what i expected from Niedermayer. Nothing overly fancy and attention grabbing just professionalism and a sense of pride and honor. We sat downstairs, 14 rows off the ice so we had a great view. Great to see board members whom i got the chance to stop and chat with as well. On a related note, who the hell else is disapointed there were absolutely no souveniers for #27 other then his agent out in front of the Fire lounge hawking off items? Where was the T's, hats, pucks, etc., in the Devils Den?
  12. Did he use a shoe? (ok, most of you will probably have to go wiki his bio to get that one....)
  13. Are you a moderator? On an occasion we are celebrating and "appreciating" a great player, TG has to sieze yet more opportunity to criticize the organization for something he knows is standard OP.
  14. TG is bellyaching on twitter that the Devils didn't have a "media day" for Niedermayer. Is he new here or something? Maybe just another opportune time to aim some more constructive criticism at the organization again.
  15. LOL @ Sam Rosen making a snide comment about the NYR not getting a PP chance in the game and it might have been a factor as they lost. At least Homer Joe stepped in and shot that down. That's two straight losses to West teams. I still think this is a pretty good team, and i see them as a top 5. The East is just a pick 'em from the looks of it, anyway. Tonight was the first game i remember not seeing the NYR in in a long time.
  16. Looking forward to being there tomorrow night!
  17. Forget the "next John Madden" crap, that was never going to happen. To anyone who's met him you know he's solid guy and easy to like. Good luck in Anaheim, Rod.
  18. Would make some nice "close to the last minute gifts"!
  19. if you miss any of this, don't worry. I am sure the Rangers will make this a box set and stick it next to the one from 1994. What will cap this off for Torts will be a finale vs Larry Brooks. Make it happen!
  20. The only problem i have with these plates is the yearly renewal fee of $60. If not for that, all three of my vehicles would have one for sure, but i am not paying $180 per year to renew something i already paid for.
  21. Now that's the Kovalchuk i want to see. That was very nice.
  22. You have to with Larsson. They don't have any other choice. He's getting on the job training and you have to expect this. Be thankful for Larry Robinson and Scott Stevens to guide him and hopefully help him from being rushed too early. Let's see how he recovers. That's the important thing.
  23. I've got 3 Varsity letters, son. And i was an assistant at my alma matter for two years. I had kids do that more then i can count. Yes, they did skate the next practice for it and yes they did sit. Some became better, some didn't. That's HS hockey where not every kid is overly talented, not every kid is going on playing in college and certainly not every kid is playing pro. Now, sit down and cool off.
