  1. Interesting note - Scott O'Neil will be CEO of Devils Arena Entertainment (the off-ice operations/marketing arm of the Devils and Prudential Center) but Hugh Weber, the former New Orleans Hornets president, will be the everyday business leader in Newark.

Looks like Harris is bringing in a really strong, experienced group and providing the resource$ to make it all work!

I spoke with Weber today, he seems like a real stand up guy. Good sense of humor too.

  2. The fact that you didn't get the wild offer/contract with parise right makes me not believe this story. Zach signed for 13 years and $98 million

I was typing this very fast at work and were talking about Kovalchuk and that's why the 15/100 was on my mind sorry. Doubt it all you want I couldn't care less. If I could tell you where I got this information from you'd be shocked and wouldn't doubt it. However, in my line of work if I give up sources, I am in big trouble.

  3. I know for a fact the offer was no where close to the 98 million Minnesota offered. The night Lou met with Zach in Toronto, he thought he and Zach had an agreement. Zach then was ready to sign back with NJ and his agent went back to the Wild and they upped their offer to the 13/98. Zach then came back to Lou with the Wild's 13/98 million dollar offer and Lou did not make a counter offer because he knew he couldn't make an offer that would either match/come close to or beat the Wild offer. The final offer that Lou made and thought Zach had agreed to was 12/84 million or 7 million per year. This is coming from a very good source, someone who is very involved in the Devils front office. If you don't want to believe me so be it, but that's how everything went down.

  4. If anybody is looking to get a jersey changed, I found a place that does a good job and it's not too expensive. ED K Sports Plus in Whippany will do it for 75 dollars. They charge 25 to strip the old nameplate and number and then 50 to put on new nameplate and number. The 50 is for pro stitching, they also offer to press it on for less. You can also obviously just pay the 25 and have a blank jersey.

  5. Lamoriello just made himself available to talk about development camp. No announcements of news.

Lamoriello said hopefully he'll have team's restricted free agents signed by end of the week, but nothing is certain til it's done.

Also hopes to hire an assistant coach by the end of the week, but said there's no need to rush that either.

  6. Just my two cents, if it were a big trade or signing, I think that Lou wouldn't wait until the end of the first practice session to meet the media. Then again, Lou is old school so you never know.

  7. Exclusive pro can do it but If you are doing more than a nameplate change it will be around $60-90 for stripping and new lettering and not counting shipping.

Is your jersey stitched on? Where did you get it done originally?

I got it from Sports Express in the Livingston Mall. The store is now out of business. Yes the jersey is stitched on. If anybody was planning on going to the NHL store in NYC, don't bother. They will not change any nameplate and number on a stitched jersey because they do not want to risk ripping the jersey.

  8. NHL store does in store customization as well as outsourcing to a vendor. The in-store is generally crappy heat pressed but with lettering that looks like it is stitched instead of the fake plastic lettering used by NHL.com

They also do upon request send the jerseys out to be stitched and they use Arena Wear. They usually turn those around in a couple of weeks but the font they use is completely incorrect so I would not recommend them. I would recommend the NHL store for rangers jerseys because they use arena wear for their on-ice jerseys so those would come out spot on. For us devils fans it just makes for better kindling.

Any suggestions on where I should take it then?

  9. they do customizations there? (stitched not pressed)

I'm not sure that's why I'm asking. My jersey is a really nice stitched one. I'll take it there tomorrow and see what they can do.
