I could be wrong but I get a feeling there's a least a few teams that feel that the Devils have no idea how to get the most out of Severson...and that all he needs is a better environment, where with proper coaching and a solid system, will figure things out.  Who knows for sure if that's true, but I am curious to see if anyone tries to make a move for him (and is willing to give something legit up to do it).

This. I completely believe poor Devils' coaching is why he isn't a star. I have been saying that for years. Also maybe Smith...

  2. It was a metaphor people. Geez, always ready to attack you all are. The point was we need to get back (or learn) basic fundamental defensive hockey. This team's positioning and fundamentals have never been great and are getting worse. That's on the coaches.

  3. Islanders general manager Lou Lamoriello added another acclamation to his Hall of Fame resume, being named winner of the NHL’s Jim Gregory GM of the Year award for the 2019-20 season.

It marks the first time Lamoriello has won the award, which began being given out in 2010.

The 77-year-old Lamoriello, who previously won three Stanley Cups as GM of the New Jersey Devils, edged out Tampa Bay’s Julien BriseBois and Dallas’ Jim Nill in voting done by a 41-member panel of GMs, NHL executives and media members.

Lamoriello’s key moves in his second season with the semifinalist Islanders were the free-agent signings of Semyon Varlamov and Derick Brassard, the re-signing of captain Anders Lee and others and the in-season trades for J-G Pageau and Andy Greene.

huh? During his entire career he made the finals once and lost.  Missed the playoffs more than a few times. I don't see the tie in between Subban and a cup.

Glad to see Ray make the moves! Hopefully PK picks it up from last year and it wasn't the start of a trend.

Can we please get a update from Mike Brown?

Somewhere Lindsey Vonn is getting the stuffing knocked out of her tonight.

The icing on the cake is no more Q.

You took what I said and reversed it. Having a Stubban doesn't make you a contender, but you can't win a Cup or contend for one without a d-man like him.

  5. The NHL suspended Boston Bruins winger Brad Marchand five games for his elbow on New Jersey Devils winger Marcus Johansson in Boston's 3-2 win Tuesday, the NHL's Department of Player Safety announcedWednesday.

In the video explaining its decision, the NHL said Marchand's elbow to the head of Johansson was "not a defensive maneuver" and that during the course of the play he "lunges both up and into Johansson, while swinging his elbow forward through Johansson's head."
