  6. http://video.nhl.com/videocenter/console?catid=60&id=907880&lang=en NEW YORK – Boston Bruins forward Max Talbot has been suspended for two games, without pay, for interference against New Jersey Devils forward Jiri Tlusty during NHL Game No. 494 in Boston on Sunday, Dec. 20, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced today. http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=793920&utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=nhl
  7. With their roster on the verge of becoming overcrowded, the Devils placed forward Brian O'Neill on waivers today. If O'Neill, 27, is not claimed by another team at noon on Thursday, he will be eligible to be assigned to Albany of the AHL. The Devils are at the 23-player roster limit and center Travis Zajac (upper-body) and right wing Tuomo Ruutu (right foot fracture) are close to being ready to come off injured reserve. http://fireandice.northjersey.com/fire-ice-1.174987/looking-to-clear-roster-space-devils-place-brian-o-neill-on-waivers-1.1474505

  9. NEWARK — Tyler Kennedy, who had been signed to a professional tryout contract on Nov. 18, was signed to a one-year, two-way contract Friday and will likely be in theDevils' lineup against the Montreal Canadiens at Prudential Center. Kennedy's contract will pay him $600,000 at the NHL level and $200,000 in the AHL. To make room on the roster, the Devils placed winger Jiri Tlusty on injured reserve retroactive to Nov. 20. http://www.nj.com/devils/index.ssf/2015/11/devils_sign_tyler_kennedy_place_jiri_tlusty_on_inj.html#incart_river_index
  10. Former Devil Dainius Zubrus signed a one-year, two-way contract with the San Jose Sharks today after joining the team on a tryout last week. http://fireandice.northjersey.com/fire-ice-1.174987/devils-believe-elias-can-add-another-dimension-to-their-offense-kennedy-needs-a-little-more-time-1.1461951
  11. 2 points for Schneider. He was great. Nice crowd today.
  12. The Devils' plan to have the team move to the practice dressing room for games, walk past fans and enter the ice from one corner of the Prudential Center rink has seemingly hit a major snag. The NHL has apparently frowned upon allowing the club to put another entrance gate in the boards, which would make two at that end of the ice. Stay tuned on this one. http://www.nj.com/devils/index.ssf/2015/10/devils_rapid_reaction_81.html
  13. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2575251-nhl-power-rankings-br-experts-preseason-poll/page/2 28. New Jersey Devils (2014-15 record: 32-36-14, 13th in East): This once-proud organization has missed the playoffs four of the last five years and it figures to be five out of six once Game No. 82 is over. Former Pittsburgh GM Ray Shero was brought in to replace team icon Lamoriello, but it'll be a while before he can fix the mess he inherited. The offense was 28th last year (2.15 goals a game) and it's difficult to see how that will improve much. After all, this team still relies a lot on 39-year-old forward Patrik Elias. Goalie Cory Schneider (.925 saves percentage) is the team's biggest strength. He will have to steal a lot of games for this team to get out of the lower tier.
  14. After a strong training camp as a tryout, right wing Lee Stempniak signed a one-year, $850,000 contract with the Devils today. The deal was first reported by Andy Strickland of Fox Sports Midwest. Stempniak, 32, had one goal and one assist in five preseason games with Devils. The 5-foot-11, 196-pound West Seneca, N.Y. native has 165 goals and 204 assists for 369 points in 708 career NHL regular season games with the St. Louis, Toronto, Arizona, Calgary, Pittsburgh, the Rangers and Winnipeg. He split last season between the Rangers and Winnipeg, putting up 15 goals and 13 assists in 71 regular season games and then adding one goal and no assists in four playoff games with the Jets. In 28 career playoff games, Stempniak has three goals and three assists. http://fireandice.northjersey.com/fire-ice-1.174987/devils-sign-lee-stempniak-to-one-year-deal-pavel-zacha-going-with-team-to-vermont-1.1424873
