  1. If Ilya Kovalchuk does return to play in the NHL again some day, he can expect to be showered with boos from more than just Devils fans in New Jersey. All of Canada would surely have something to say to the talented winger now that he has officially been cited as the reason Russian players deliberately left the ice at the conclusion of the 2015 world championships in Prague before Canada's national anthem was played to celebrate that country's gold medal victory. After studying video evidence, the IIHF said Kovalchuk gave an "unmistakable head gesture" as a signal for teammates to skate off the ice early after receiving their silver medals. Most of the Russian players did not stay to hear the Canadian anthem and watch the flags of the three medallist countries being raised. http://www.nj.com/devils/index.ssf/2015/08/another_blow_to_former_devils_winger_ilya_kovalchu.html
  2. Best player on a bad team for a few years now
  3. Very disappointed. It's been a tough year in the camera business.
  4. I don't understand this move.. unless a D trade is coming
  5. Niedermayer leaving started the downfall, from which we never recovered.
  6. The time has come to determine where New Jersey's only namesake team has carved out a niche in one of the most established sports universes on the planet. The New Jersey Devils are nothing new in the Garden State, calling the state home since the early 1980s. They've won three Stanley Cups since they arrived, were led by arguably the greatest goaltender of all time in Martin Brodeur and, up until recently, were led by one of the most revered general managers in the sport in Lou Lamoriello. But where is their fan base? With the Stanley Cup Finals kicking into gear last night, we wanted to find out. http://www.nj.com/sports/njsports/index.ssf/2015/06/whats_your_favorite_area_hockey_team_help_us_draw_njs_nhl_borders.html
  7. Phil Housley, who played 22 games for theDevils late in the 1995-96 season, is at the top of general manager Ray Shero's short list to become the club's next head coach. Shero has done an extensive search to find the right coach for the Devils, considering Guy Boucher of SC Bern in Switzerland, Washington Capitals assistant coach Todd Reirden and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton AHL coach John Hynes, but Housley has emerged as the leading choice. Housley, 51, is currently an assistant coach with the Nashville Predators under Peter Laviolette. http://www.nj.com/devils/index.ssf/2015/05/former_devils_defenseman_phil_housley_could_be_clu.html
  8. Just the funniest thing I have seen in a month.
  9. Martin Brodeur might still return to the Devils some day to work in their front office, but he does not anticipate that happening anytime soon with Lou Lamoriello no longer their general manager. Although Lamoriello remains as team president in charge of hockey operations, Brodeur sees the organization going in a bit of a different direction after hiring Ray Shero as GM last week and had already been talking with the St. Louis Blues about remaining as part of that team's front office. In fact, that will likely become official by the end of next week, after Blues GM Doug Armstrong returns from the world championships in the Czech Republic and Brodeur returns from spending some time at his home in Florida. “Especially with the change (the Devils) made, I think it's a great opportunity for me to take a step back and go somewhere – or stay somewhere – that I'll be able to learn and do things I want to do and try to learn as much as possible and who knows what the future,” the former Devils goaltender told northjersey, com today. “But, it's less and less likely it's going to happen in New Jersey for a few years, that's for sure.” http://fireandice.northjersey.com/fire-ice-1.174987/after-gm-change-martin-brodeur-not-expecting-to-return-to-devils-for-a-few-years-1.1331807
  10. I know people on the business side and Lou was not liked.. not even a little. His performance sealed his fate.
  11. I like what Gomez did. Why not?!
  12. Cangelosi is a pro and a very good one. Daneyko, as much as I love him, is a hack. Chco had me yelling at him through the TV, Daneyko has me turning the sound off.
  13. Let's Get The Better Draft Pick
  14. Pretty sick stuff https://youtu.be/-cARmC7Jdx0
  15. I know a few Devils's execs on the business side and they are hoping Lou is gone soon - maybe even suggested it will happen this summer.
  16. NEWARK — How much clout do three Stanley Cup rings bring, even it's been 12 years since the last championship? Enough, NJ Media Advance has learned, that Lou Lamoriello will remain the Devils' general manager, even if the team misses the playoffs for a third straight season and for the fourth time in five years. Owners Josh Harris and David Blitzer have enough faith in Lamoriello's ability to return the Devils to Stanley Cup contenders that he will keep his position despite the belief by some critics that it's time to move on. ..."My view has been, 'Why tamper with success?' " Harris said this past fall in a meeting at the NJ Advance offices. "When we hand out $40-plus-million on contracts, rest assured we're spending a lot of time talking, discussing, analyzing. http://www.nj.com/devils/index.ssf/2015/02/lou_lamoriello_will_remain_devils_gm_even_if_team.html
