first of all, we don't know if this team knows how to win because they have not been in the playoffs yet, I'm not so sure they can beat a good goalie in crunchtime. The 96-97 Devils couldn't beat Richter, the 97-98 Devils couldn't be Rhodes, and the 98-99 Devils had trouble with Barrasso. Last year we were schooled by the now below average Kevin Weekes. This team is closer to the 96-99 Devils than the 2001 Devils, which did go down in game 7 of the stanley cup finals, you don't come any closer than that. More than anything, it was Roy stealing the series and Brodeur coming up small. Lou had a great 1st line, but you can't expect them to make a combined 4 million dollars forever right.

I'm not comfortable with the Devils being a defense first 1 seed, we've never won that way. Lou is not following the 2000 or 2001 blueprint, because this team is built on past postseason failures, not successes.

with all the 1 goal games, this team could very easily been at .500 they don't win convincingly most of the time, struggling with everybody. That's why they're not a true 29 win team, but you can't take those wins away. but this team is closer to the 97-98 Devils than any of our cup winners Friesen-Nieuw-Langs, yea we have a 2nd line, but now we don't have a 1st line, earlier in the year we just had a 1st line with Elias doing all he could. this team doesn't have enough for 2 solid lines. that 10 goal playoff Langenbrunner had 4 years is starting to look like a fluke, sort of like John Druce. Other than that he hasn't had more than 2 in a playoff season, and 15 goals in 74 career playoff games isn't great.

Satan and Bondra were key contributers, and they were in on most of the big goals. every team that goes to the finals gets some surprise performances or lucky goals, some more than others. Look at the 95 Devils, Lemieux had 13 goals. this devils team is also overachieving, they're not a true 29-13-3-3 team. Who's to say Langenbrunner and Friesen(not having a great year anyway, but the closest thing we have to old #12) won't be the Guerin & Thomas of 2003, I don't trust them in the playoffs the same way I didn't trust Guerin & Thomas.

Well, the Capitals were pretty good offensively, and the Sabres offense was better than there mediocre defense, but they had Hasek. no, the Canes were not great offensively, but they were better than us. yep, he'd better go after Satan and Bondra.

the Rags teased there fans a little, but oh well. Same old crap. defense won't win any eastern conference championships, it won't even get you out of the 1st round unless you have an above average offense. I guess some people here didn't watch hockey from 96-99.

i think it has to do with the glass supports, the seamless glass is gone and if you zoom in too much all the dividers will get in the way. or maybe it's just how the Anaheim rink is configured, no room for cameras except way up there.

Adam Foote is NOT the best defensive defensman in hockey, he's a cheap, clutch & grabber. There are better skaters, shot blockers, and checkers out there, Lidstrom, Chara, and Hatcher just to name a few.

I believe he's signed for next year, so we'll have Francis if Nieuwy leaves. He's still a very good scorer at his age and is extremely durable. He's big though not very physical. I know we're kind of full at center so Gomez would have to play wing permanently now or be our 3rd line center. I haven't been watching many games recently so I don't know what Burns is doing with the lines. I would propose Gionta Niedermayer Ahonen 2nd round pick for Ron Francis Bret Hedican Craig Adams

Courteney has enough meat for me, she's a fitness freak and has some nice lean muscle freakishly strong I bet I don't know, the fat yentas never appealed to me. And they're the one's always critical of girls like Courteney for being too thin. She's perfect!!!!
