  1. One more "Thank You" to Jamie. Will always appreciate the sacrifices you made to provide fans with a lifetime memories.
  2. I think the point of the post was to say something along the lines of, "Be more like Sean Connery and less like George Lazenby." Or, something like that. I'm guessing she's pining for some form of machismo from someone on the team, thinking the team'll start earning wins from the attitude change.

    Mudbugs Game

Got to watch the Mudbugs play the Brahmas back in '05. The Brahmas' were late to the game 'cos the bus broke down. As for the game itself, it was very entertaining. The 'bugs had their Avery-type (Dan Wildfong, FTW!) getting into all kinds of mischeif. You could tell these guys weren't meant for the NHL, but every now and then you'd see a nice pass, shot, save, goal and you'd realize that these guys do possess some talent. In short, if I lived in Shreveport **shudder** I could very easily become emotionally invested in the team. Enjoy the game!
  4. When I watched Kovy play last night, I saw a guy mired in a slump that tried to take what the opposing team gave him. I'd say he was doing the little things to help his team win. If his contract didn't cry out for him to do the big things to help his team win, I'd be fairly satisfied with his play. Still, I think it is obvious the effort is there. I am confident that at some point this season, Kovy's gonna go on the tear we're all pining for. Devils aren't out of this yet.
  5. I like it. Don't like the font for the numbers, nor am I particularly fond of the canon, but I like it. Maybe I like it 'cos it isn't too far off from the best sweater in hockey, anywhere... ... the Sudbury Wolves.

    Prospects

I am eagerly anticipating McPherson turning pro. Got to see just a few shifts of him with Colgate last year and was very impressed. Excellent first pass out of the zone, big dude and above average mobility.
  7. Firing MacLean would be the wrong move. Just my ever so humble opinion.
  8. So.....which of the defensemen, do you think, will benefit the most from this trade this season?
  9. Right on. Lou's not the only one to be criticized on the team, but it does all begin and end with him. It's just the way he wants it.
  10. TH: Moose HM: Mills Pelley had a good game. TG: Tallinder His lazy penalty cost the Devils the lead. As for White, he had a tough game. C'est la vie.
  11. Wish I could be there. I'd be rockin' the Brylin sweater. Alas! A GL o' F keeps me from the rink but in front of my TV.
  12. Question: If Volchenkov winds up missing 10 games, do the Devils get to retro-actively put him on the LTIR? And if so, does that clear any cap space?
  13. Awesome story. I have a similar story, although not nearly as spectacular. A few years ago (2005?) I went to one of those rookie tournaments. This was held at the Sharks' practice rink and got to watch unproven rookies like Setoguchi, Getzlaf, Perry, Ryan, and Glencross play for the first time. I'm sitting next to an older couple in the stands who turn out to be the parents of Shay and Logan Stephenson. It was quite the learning experience in regards to the process (for some) to get to the NHL. Really nice people. Alas, one of the Devils' first all-stars. Isn't he deceased or greatly debilitated now? I forget. Oh yeah, first: Bob Lorimer
  14. Yeah, I wanted to see what was going on with Hillen before I moved any of my defensemen. Before Wisnieski was suspended, Jack couldn't crack a line-up that was minus Streit but added Mottau. Then the suspension came and Hillen was inserted into the line-up. I gambled that, given this opportunity, Hillen would impress. Instead, he plays for only 9 minutes and does zilch statistically. Eh, too late to move on Taormina, but I picked up Kulikov. He's in Florida's top 4 and the former 1st round pick looks close to putting it together.
  15. If Moose plays tonight, and the Devils win, it could be the beginning of turning this season around.
  16. But it's also a relatively new team. As for the softies, that's been a Marty bug-a-boo for a while now. They just seemed less frequent back in the glory days.
  17. Yeah, I get it, it's a results oriented business. But there are good things happening for the Devils out there. And, given their track record, I'm willing to be a glass is half full kind of guy right now.
  18. Jesus, people. Calm the F down. I thought the Devils played very well tonight. I am mightily annoyed about this team's propensity to find a way to lose games right now, but I'm not mightily concerned...yet. This team has undergone a tremendous transformation this off-season. They've had all of a handful of games to try to get the alchemy right, since the pre-season was mostly about trying to determine which youngsters are ready for the show. So, to get 40+ shots on net, many of which were high quality, with the team they iced tonight actually gives me reason for optimism. As for Brodeur, let's not forget he out-duelled Miller Wednesday. Once the chemistry gets going, the pucks will start going in the net on O, and Brodeur will tighten up. There's still 70 some-odd games to go. While the results leave a lot to be desired, I think I see signs of the team coming together. They did not play poorly tonight. The 'Lanche had the better goaltending. It happens.
  19. I would say Palmieri is a possibility since he was one of the last to be demoted.
  20. I was gonna put the album cover up, but I'm "Insert Image" challenged.
  21. It is curious to me how Palmeri is still in camp after seeing action in only one pre-season game, while Vasyunov played in two and is no longer with the big club.

    Waivers/Cuts

Is MacIntyre still in camp? Since he hasn't been a game yet, I wonder why they'd keep him around.
