  1. I had a bucket handle tear as the result of 18 years with no ACL. Doctor went in, cut out the bad portion, and I was home the same day. I remember it vividly, as surgey day was Sept 10th 2001, and I was sitting on the couch for Sept 11th. Anyway, I was off crutches on the 11th, and back playing hockey 9 days later. Comparatively, to other knee surgeries I have had, that one was was very minor. As others have said if the arthritis is not too bad, I would be very surprised if you were out of sports for a month. Good Luck...
  2. Since we are only talking hair and makeup, it seems this would be a more appropriate comparison. Of course that would be assuming there were actually 10 weeks in September....
  3. 1) What is your current occupation? Builder 2) Any children or pets? 2 kids, 2 dogs 3) Claim to fame? Can't think of any.... 4) How did you come up with your screen name? Name, and hockey number... 5) Any hobbies? Playing hockey, snowboarding, photography
  4. Sorry to see this happen, as I liked Mission products, and they will probably disappear as a brand name.....
  5. I sent some too. I don't really post alot, but I am here reading EVERYDAY. Chris
  6. Typical (N)Єverson. This guy loathes the Devils, you can just see it in every sentence. The Parise portion of the article was such a non issue, yet it was 3/4's of his story. It would be one thing if Zach were complaining, but it seems it is exactly the opposite.
  7. I know I am very late, but if any openings occur, I would like to join. Thanks

    Devils Practice

I posted this once before, but here ya go... As of 7/24/08 From further investigation it seems they do not have control at this time of where people go with "open access". It is something they are working on, and would like to reopen again. No real conspiracys...

    Devils Practice

My understanding was that they would be unable to control the access to the whole workings of the Rock. I guess they are afraid of people wandering off into areas where they don't belong, and potential lawsuits. At least that is what I was told.
  10. I emailed about that and on 7/24/08 I recieved the following email, so I guess we'll see: Dear Chris, Thank you for your recent e-mail. AS of this moment practices remain closed to the public as we are still working through some operational issues associated with open access. We hope to be able to open to the public in the near future. We appreciate your interest, comments, and mostly your support of the New Jersey Devils. Best regards, Chris Christopher Modrzynski Sr. EVP/Chief Operating Officer
  11. Hockey Futures posted their recap of the Devils recent draft picks. Some good info on the lower round players. At least stuff I hadn't seen. 2008 Devils Draft Review
  12. The interesting thing is, I heard on XM home ice yesterday that Sundin didn't even meet with Gainey. Sundin said he needed more time to decide if he was even going to play this season, so he wasn't going to waste time deciding on a team, if he wasn't even sure of he'd be playing.

    Draft Night Chat

If any of this is true, your "source" is gonna be pretty pissed you posted so much info so quickly. You are practically stating your source was in the room, or pretty damn close by. It would not be too hard for the organization to come up with a list of possibilities, of who it might be. Hope your source doesn't mind your detailed postings.
  14. Actually this tradition goes further back then Penn State. Winnipeg, and then Phoenix used to do the Whiteoutin the 80's, and 90's. I found this on Wikipedia: "The Winnipeg Whiteout is a hockey tradition that dates back to 1985 when hockey fans in Winnipeg were asked to wear white clothing to home playoff games in Winnipeg, creating a very intimidating effect and atmosphere. It was created as a response to the "C of Red" created by fans of the Calgary Flames, whom the home town Winnipeg Jets were facing in the first round of the playoffs. The Jets would eliminate the Flames in four games (Best of 5 in round 1), and fans wore white for every playoff game thereafter. Fans coined it the "Whiteout". When the Jets moved to Phoenix as the Coyotes, fans quickly adopted the "Whiteout" tradition for playoff games."
  15. Fixed. I think Brylin will return to the Devils however not at 1.5 million. His experience, and versatility still have a value for them. I'd bring him back in the 800-900 range...
  16. I really want to see this. I read the book a few years ago, and am now really intrigued to see what Sean Penn brought to it.
  17. This looks like fun. I'll go with... Jonathan Toews (3/12)
  18. IMO all you need to do is look at the past two seasons, to realize the enormous value of a goaltender like Marty. I always believed that Broduers numbers were a result of the team and system in front of him, much a s Montana's greatness was directly attributible to the West Coast system the 49'ers used to run. And while I still believe some of Marty's numbers are a product of the system, it is much less than I believed prior. Look at the Devils goals for the past two years, and then look at how many games the Devils won last year when scoring 2 or fewer goals. Neither last years team, nor this years should have produced the results they did, based on offensive production alone. Unless of course you are letting in even few then your meager output, which we know is the case, and the ragtag band of defenseman in front of Marty is not the reason why. Martys consistency through the years is unmatched, regardless of who is in front of him.
  19. If I were a Rangers fan I would probably laugh every time I heard it. I mean the Devils have been the better of the two teams for a long time, and yet the fans feel so insecure that they still need to bring the Rangers up multiple times per game almost as though they need to reassure themselves that the Rangers do indeed suck. Here is a team they are not even playing but they still need to bring them up, pretty pathetic actually.
  20. This is a very gracious offer, and I for one would like to take you up on it, but with two kids home sick, there is just no way. Thanks for the offer though....
  21. I liked Friesen when he was here, and firmly believe without him we don't have cup number 3. I wish him well...
  22. Good Job DM. When I first saw the thread title yesterday, I initially thought it was a reference to the Devils annual drug testing. Chris
