I rememer the Islanders did this back in I think 2002. I was at the game, and during the second intermission they rounded up all the "Santas" and brought them out for a lap around the Coliseum ice. Once they were all on the ice and the lap began, About 40 or 50 of them all simultaneously took off their Santa suits and they were ALL wearing Rangers jerseys!! The place went NUTS and started pelting them with stuff. I remember the third period was delayed about 10 minutes because they had to settle everyone down and cleanup the ice. To this day, I have to say it is one of the funniest things I've ever seen at a sporting event.

At least they didn't spell his last name wrong like the fvcking Sabres did. The '2' will irk me but I'll live with it.

Time to wear my Niedermayer jersey one more time tomorrow. I wore it exclusively all through the 2003 playoffs. No doubt the end to that story is exactly as I wished So excited for tomorrow night. Ready to give this guy the love and respect he deserves. Go Devils.

That would be due to the fact that the PBP man for VERSUS last night is actually the PBP man for the Tampa Bay Lightning. There would obviously be some bias there.

The OP in this thread is bang-on with a lot of the issues I've been noticing as well. I may not have 20,000 posts, but I've been on this board for almost 8 years. I've seen a lot of bickering and pointless arguing throughout that time. But what it all boils down to is that I'm thankful to have a place full of (mostly) knowledgable fans to interact with. The biggest favor you can do yourself is to remember its just a forum, take it with a grain of salt. I personally dont use the ignore feature because i dont like my experience to be edited. There are going to be some batsh!t crazy posts, but not everyone of em needs to be flamed. I'm sure enough people are laughing at their desks anyway. If the MODs are swamped maybe we should see if anyone here is up for lending a hand? Everyone just chill and be thankful we all have a place to talk Devils. We all know damn well we would be devastated if NJDevs shut down. I know I would.

It's ugly here. They didn't look the same on the bench once Sykora took the T. Also, I have a real feeling that this crap with DeBoer starting/yanking Marty is wearing thin in the locker room.

I'm 3 rows behind the Devs bench tonight. Kovalchuk, Parise, and Elias are IRATE with the refs. Kovy just responded to a fan who was heckling him on that last rush at the end of the 2nd and went right to the locker room. He was livid. Things really look bad. This team is in total disarray right now.

When I heard that goal on the radio, I was expecting something just like what happened with Parise against NYI. When I finally saw the play, I can't argue with the short review. There was nothing to look at. I hate to be so passive about it but Kessel's foot didn't move toward the net at all. Zach, although he got shoved in, his foot was moving toward the net. I still think the Devils got robbed, but comparing this one to Zach's is Apples to Oranges in my opinion. EDIT: Ok, Kessel's foot was moving forward, but because he was stopping or turning. Still a different scenario.

Every year, the Devils (and almost every other NHL team) make the last Regular Season home game "Fan Appreciation Night." Typically, there is a poster giveaway of that years team, plus all throughout the game there are prizes to be won, giveaways, etc. It's pretty neat. I remember a few fans last year won a pair of season tickets just by having their seat numbers called. Hope this answers your question.

I don't usually share my thoughts on what I feel the lines should be, but what the hell. Given the choice, I would put this together: Parise - Zajac - Zubrus Kovalchuk - Henrique - Tedenby Sykora - Elias - Clarkson Zharkov - Carter - Palmieri I understand nobody wants to split up Sykora/Elias/Zubrus but you need to balance the forward lines out once Zajac is healthy. The only worrisome part of my line combos is the second line which could potentially be a defensive nightmare. But, if they could use their speed (Kovalchuk) and quickness (Tedenby) to keep the play in the offensive zone for most of their 45-50 second shift, it might be alright. I also like Tedenby on the right side as he is a left handed shot. Perfect for a one-timer off a pass from the left side, which seems to be Kovy's bread and butter every time he hits the offensive blueline. The fourth line, to me, has been something that needs a makeover. In "today's" NHL, I don't think you can be successful with a trio of goons a la Boulton, Janssen, Pelley, etc. You need to have a fourth line that you can somewhat rely on for some offense. Zharkov is defensively responsible and can at least be a setup man, Carter is decent in the circle, and Palmieri is a big body, but doesn't use it enough to earn a spot in the top 6.
