  1. Meadowlanders wouldn't have been a rip off of the Islanders at all lol, thank god that was avoided.
  2. 2006 - Jordan Staal 2007 - Angelo Esposito 2008 - 1st Traded for Hossa 2009 - Simon Despres 2010 - Beau Bennett 2011 - Joe Morrow 2012 - Derrick Pouliot, Olli Maatta Only one real miss in that crop, and 2007 was a 1st Round that only generated about 16 regular NHLers out of 30 selection. Take off the blinders, Shero has drafted fine during his tenure with the Pens.
  3. Pretty happy about this, we all respect what Lou has done over the years and we likely don't have those 3 banners hanging in our arena without him, but it was time for a change and just a new set of eyes to bring this team into a new era. If this really was Lou's idea, I applaud him for his selflessness.
  4. Kuja's OT Winner from that game:
  5. Elliotte Friedman: Hearing free-agent F Artem Panarin, who led KHL champion St. Petersburg in scoring, is getting close to joining the Chicago Blackhawks.
  6. Kinda hard to read what Philly is doing because they're all over the place, but I figure they're going with a forward, already have Sanheim, Morin, Hagg, and Gostisbehere in the system on D.
  7. Points are skewed like SMantzas said because of injuries, suspension, 1st NA season, and a bad team, but watching him play he has pro talent. Between the other top forwards around that pick, Crouse is the Power Forward, Barzal is the Playmaker, and Zacha is the goal scorer, he has a hell of a shot and pro size as well.
  8. Comparatively Bracco has much better numbers than other USHL-product 1st Rounders (Schmaltz, Larkin from 2014), and has numbers almost as good as Kessel from his days in the USHL. Only knock on him is size, but just raw skill I think makes him a 1st Rounder, if he's there at #36 though we need to take him, played his youth hockey in Jersey as well.I also wouldn't mind Beauvillier at #36, just not my first choice.
  9. Everything i've seen and heard of Quenneville seems to indicate that he's really clutch, always turns it on during the Playoffs.
  10. I think Bracco is a late-teens/early-20's pick, in the 2nd Round I think we can look at Filip Chlapik, Daniel Sprong, Thomas Novak, Alex Durgachyov, Denis Guryanov, and maybe Jake DeBrusk, just to name a few players. At #67 I'm really hoping for Dmytro Timashov, Devils don't really have a playmaker like him in their system.
  11. My top choice at #6 is Marner, but I find it highly unlikely that he falls out of the Top 5, I think Rantanen is a reach at #6 so I would limit our options to Crouse (who I actually like a lot), Barzal, and Zacha.
  12. In the Draft i'd like one of Crouse or Barzal at #6 (Marner is who I want most but I think that's a pipe dream), then in the 2nd Round look at Thomas Novak, Filip Chlapik, Nikita Korostelev, or Daniel Sprong at #36 and #41, if one of the bigger Americans (White, Bracco, Boeser) falls to 36 i'd be ecstatic but I don't expect it to happen. In Round 3 I love Dmytro Timashov, would really like him at #66. Maybe we could pick Andrew Mangiapane in one of the later rounds as well, Blandisi's linemate this year in Barrie.
  13. I wonder if we could get someone like Emerson Etem for Gelinas, I think Etem has somewhat been falling out of favor in Anaheim, only played 45 games this year for the NHL team. Has speed and is marketed as a goal scorer, worth the project IMO. EDIT: Also seeing that they're both RFA this summer, could be a swap of RFA for RFA in that scenario.
  14. This was my bracket on NHL.com, i'll just abbreviate it here: PIT vs NYR - Rangers in 4 NYI vs WSH - Capitals in 6 OTT vs MTL - Candiens in 6 DET vs TB - Lightning in 5 MIN vs STL - Blues in 6 CHI vs NSH - Blackhawks in 6 WPG vs ANA - Ducks in 7 CGY vs VAN - Canucks in 7 __________________________________ WSH vs NYR - Rangers in 7 TB vs MTL - Lightning in 6 CHI vs STL - Blues in 7 VAN vs ANA - Ducks in 5 __________________________________ TB vs NYR - Lightning in 6 STL vs ANA - Blues in 7 __________________________________ TB vs STL - Lightning in 6 Conn Smythe Winner: Tyler Johnson
  15. Mark Fraser cannot be allowed to be on this roster next season, my god is he terrible. It's been torture having to watch him these past few months.
  16. Kings about to lose in regulation, eliminated from playoffs. Where they really lost it was that regulation loss to Edmonton two nights ago, that was a must win against a bad team and they blew it
