  1. Any official word on Parise's injury during the intermission?

    Rats talent

Amen. Lou knows what he's doing. I've always felt Ahonen was kindoff overated. I've never seen him play mind you, but his numbers are so brutal. In comparison with Clemenson he's doing worse. I'm glad to see that someone else has taken notice of Josh Disher. He looks like he may turn out to be a decent goalie someday.

The Union's offer is the definition of a band-aid solution. It will temporarily help but over time we could end up in the same mess. Still, at some point the owners are going to have to step up and take responsibily for their actions. Its called creating you're own budget and sticking to it. And I don't buy this crap about the pressures of the marketplace and teams having to match salaries to remain competitive. Look at the Devils, they let Holik walk away and won the cup the next year. Theres no reason the owners shouldn't be able to make a go of it with a 24% rollback.
  4. I guess we'll find out on the 9th. Still, if they haven't given them the salary cap then that could be the end of the discussion right there. What Doan sees as major concessions could be viewed completely different by the owners. Lets hope this leads to something useful anyway...
  5. If it were true why would they even have a meeting, why not just announce the deal right now? I find highly unlikely that players just caved in all of a sudden. I hope this is true but I doubt it. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
  6. As much as it kills me to say it, Roy probably has been the better goalie in his peaks. Nothing Brodeur has done can really compete with the 86 cup where he basically won the cup single handedly. He also outduled Brodeur in 2001, although they were both inconsistent throughout the series. That said, you could definitely make an argument that Brodeur has been the more consistent goalie. He has continued to improve over his career while Roy has been inconsistent at times.
  7. I'm sure that fans would pay to see replacement players initially, but after awile you'd lose your taste for it. It's just not the same as NHL hockey. Thats my opinion anyway.

    F-ing morons

Wow. Pretty ridiculous. I don't remember any NHLers chasing fans into the stands because they got hit with a plastic cup. Nice try though Artest.
