  1. Out of town: Buffalo didn't want to be outdone by us, so they gave up some 3rd period goals and lost by the same scoreline.
  2. I actually preferred this one. Why? Because they didnt let in a goal. Last game's third was more annoying that exciting for me. Showed they could play hard, that they could execute, but only in a spurt, not a complete game. Not in a way that would matter.
  3. When the Devils are so bad that you end up watching Bridgerton instead.
  4. But we do have 3 goalies playing bad. Sure there are goals that aren't their fault, but none of them have been making saves to keep us in the game either. The latter part is their job. So yeah, they are playing bad.
  5. Anyone seen a single play worth mentioning by Severson tonight? Seems like his interest in playing is completely gone (and has been for a couple weeks or more). Have the impression he is just over playing for this team. He should be our best dman but i'd rather trade him if he's burned out.
  6. We need more than a couple adds. Fitz has his work cut out for him in the FA market. Shockingly, we need goaltending most of all. Reliable goaltending (something we have not received from Blackwood this year barring his first few games) has to be the backbone a team that will still be young and inexperienced even if we bring in a few veteran skaters through FA.
  7. Yeah to be clear, there is blame everywhere for these results. That said, it's clear that this coaching staff isn't providing an effective structure that makes our team hard to play against. Someone else might be able to do this, and so it's a responsibility to explore these options heading into next season. If there is a higher chance to be better than what you know currently capable of, you have to take it.
  8. They should clean house. the downside is low. There is very little to lose by getting new/different leadership in. We're at the bottom, there's no risk.
  9. I like Lindy Ruff, but the devils showing up for only 1 of 3 periods every game is on the coaches (regardless of the quality of the roster). The lack of execution (missed shots, special teams being completely inept) is on the coaches I think the players and GM deserve blame too, but the coaching staff must take a lot responsibility here.
  10. Here's the headline for today: "Devils score 6 in the 3rd; Lose game."
  11. not bad. I like bernier. not afraid to fight in front of crease
  12. low risk, the only downside is that he takes a roster spot from someone else like a boucher or matteau. However, those kids need to earn that spot (so does havlat), so not a major deal. hopefully he can play at least 2/3 of the seasons games.
  13. we got cammalieri 5 yrs 5mil per, 25 total
  14. Without Harris getting us #30, here is what our draft would have looked like: 2 11 41 NJD JOSHUA JACOBS D USA 6' 1" 193 USHL INDIANA 3 11 71 NJD CONNOR CHATHAM RW USA 6' 2" 222 OHL PLYMOUTH 5 11 131 NJD RYAN REHILL D CAN 6' 2" 210 WHL KAMLOOPS 6 2 152 NJD JOEY DUDEK C USA 5' 11" 180 HIGH-NH KIMBALL UNION 6 11 161 NJD BRANDON BADDOCK LW CAN 6' 3" 205 WHL EDMONTON EDIT: I apologize if this has caused you to lose your lunch.
  15. It's impossible to forecast, but the feeling today is severe disappointment. Looking at the picks, it's hard to be excited about, or see much upside in any of them. We're going to need a big surprise or turn around from someone in this draft class, and that's not a given. Our team has not been in this bad of shape roster, depth, and prospect wise in 25 years. Instead of taking steps forward we plop out a draft like this. I just don't see how these picks are solid building blocks for the future unless we think the future stanley cup winning teams will be a lineup of all 3rd and 4th liners.
