  1. There's nothing new in there, really...and that's a good thing. But yeah that just can't happen.
  2. I hate to say it (really REALLY hate to say it) but sadly it appears that they truly learned from last year’s mistakes…including Drury, who didn’t go the usual Ranger “splashy name” route at the deadline. I just hope they get knocked off.
  3. Better it happen to them than the Devils.
  4. Yeah the Dodgers are basically having one of those big-time breakout kind of games. Might as well take some guys out of the lineup and give them a little rest. If Alonso stays in the game, watch him hit a completely meaningless HR or two. Seems about right.
  5. This feels like a big-time blowout in the making…at least if the Mets get killed, it’s only one loss in the end.
  6. Looks like they’re gonna lose this one…oh well, happily would’ve taken two out of three going in. Mets pitchers have gotta stop walking so many guys…they’ve gotten away with it quite a bit, but eventually that’s going to hurt them. Already did today with Ohtani.
  7. It would be nice if Boston liked any of the goalies currently in the Devils’ system. I’m guessing it would probably take the Devils’ 2024 first-rounder, Holtz, and one or two other pieces. Fitz might be able to get away with not including either Mercer or Casey…it will be very impressive if he was able to pull that off. Especially since Ullmark’s not far removed from a Vezina-winning season. If the Devils play D like they did last season, no goalie is going to be able to help. But I think Fitz is going to try to address that too (really hope that he brings in the right coach).
  8. Keep in mind that it’s not like the Devils are going to be the only team involved. That will help to drive up the price some.
  9. Estimate is 6-8 weeks. Not too too bad. Would be nice to see SOMEONE get caught stealing a base against the Mets. Teams are going to start running on them every game.
  10. You wouldn’t be on board with Ullmark? Saros is my first choice but I’d be plenty happy with Ullmark.
  11. Lindor’s start was SO bad that it will take a while for his numbers to recover, but he’s actually been pretty good over his last 12 games…slashing .269/.333/.442. But yeah not like he or Pete are off to flying starts. The team has really done a hell of a job to completely negate starting 0-5. And with both the Phillies and the Braves on hot streaks of their own, the Mets have flat-out NEEDED to go on this tear.
  12. Question Mark-storm. He’s not a solution…he’s throw-it-against-the-wall-and-hope-it-sticks. Calgary would absolutely rejoice if they could dump his cap hit.
  13. The balance of Dawson’s career (especially offensively) has definitely been inconsistent (often wildly so), but the same was true of Bratt until he turned the corner at 23. Still doesn’t feel like he’s reached his true ceiling. Still suspect he’ll be a key piece moved in a deal for a goalie, especially if it involves Saros.
  14. And that’s game. HUGE win, especially since they didn’t let the game get away from them. Hopefully Lindor starts to get it going.
  15. Walks another guy. Sorry just no reason for that. Diaz is actually starting to loosen up, but Dodgers down to their final strike.
  16. THROW STRIKES DIEKMAN! YOU’RE UP BY FIVE RUNS FFS! Wow Freeman goes 0-for-5 with 3 K tonight. Feels like that guy is good for at least one hit in every game that he plays against the Mets.
  17. Bader gets fvcked out of a perfect day at the plate, as ball four on a clearly outside pitch was called a strike in his final AB, which later became a K. Still up by five headed into the bottom of the ninth. Kudos…once the Dodgers tied it up 4-4 I was waiting for the bottom to fall out. Glad that it didn’t happen, though there’s still work to be done.
  18. At least they fought back to re-take a four-run lead, though Ottavino was lucky that one ball didn’t leave the park. Looked plenty scary coming off the bat. Hopefully they can take this home.
  19. Yep, same ol same ol. Seen this game a million times in Met history. Guess we’ll see if they have a comeback in them.
  20. Heaven forbid either Nimmo or Marte put the fvcking bat on the ball with runners on second and third. That’s what makes today’s game so infuriating at times…the lack of two-strike adjustments by so many hitters.
  21. fvcking Lindor…maybe this guy shouldn’t be batting third at the moment? Still, nice to have a 4-0 lead over Yamamoto and the Dodgers so far.
  22. Seriously there's two DBAs that seem to have endless coaching lives: Dumb But Ancient in Lindy Dumb But Angry in Hynes
  23. I don’t fully hate them but not a fan by any stretch. I would’ve gone without names on the back for these. The 1920s-style font is OK but can’t say I love it. A 3 out of 10 from me. If the names were removed, maybe a 3.5 or 4.
