Agreed, but this guy isn't saying "oh he reminds me of such and such" he is saying statistically this player is on par with this player. And as far as I can tell it does not account for the quality of the team mates that the individual is playing with.
So Luke could go back to Michigan next year, put up the same points and regress on this model, yet have picked up harder minutes and played on what is looking like a weaker team.

I think his work is good and it gives a nice visual , but it will always suffer from having to compare performance across different leagues and the level of competition at the time in that league.

Getting back to goalies Bill Guerin said today that they are looking to keep both Fleury and Talbot as their tandem for next year. They also donged Jesper Wallstedt to his ECL.
Obviously it's not a done deal, but that could be one more name off the UFA market in the summer.
Also ready that Toronto are trying to sort out their roster for next year and have made some intial offers to their UFA's. One of which was Jack Campbell. Rumour has it that Dubas offered him $2.75 million a year, which is a massive low ball. This could potentially push him towards the exit. However in his exit interview he has said his priority is remaining with the Leafs.

They have been really inconsistent for a while now. Their run in was messed up by all the call ups and they just didn't come into the playoffs with any form of momentum. I also don't think the layoff with the bye through the first round did them any favours.
Got to say from some of the younger guys Instagram posts it has looked like they are already on holiday!! Not saying players cant chill out and enjoy life, but they were in the middle of a playoff series.

Quite a few draft lists have Cooley at second.
Seems like a player who's profile is similar to what we already have on the roster. On the small side, good skater and play maker with a good shot.
Given he is a center as well it would seem like we don't have much of a need. But do you just take BPA.

Yeah Fitz said there is a language barrier to contend with. One of the reason they wanted him over ASAP was to start working on that before the start of next season.

Fitz said in the end of season interview that initially he would just be watching and depending on how the comets got on might see a game. I read that as "if they get through to a best of 7 we might see him in a game or two".
This series is not one to chuck him into.

A lot of people aren't sure he is the best player in the draft now. The consensus seems to be he is the safest pick.
