What he said is the exact same thing that any other athlete in his position would say (except for maybe a guy like Jeter or Rivera, where it's clearly obvious they're never going anywhere else). It's unrealistic to expect to hear him say 'I'd never go anywhere else under any circumstances' which seems to be the only response that wouldn't draw panic here. I'd be pretty upset if he ended his career with another team. If he stays he'll go down as (along with Lemieux, and maybe I'm missing a few others) one of the greatest hockey players of all time (hell, of any sport) to stick with one team. Even guys like Emmitt Smith, Jerry Rice, MJ, etc, played for another team at the end. I think Lou would do whatever it takes to make sure that happened here.
