'7'
LMAO, 13,000 out of 15,000 seats? No fvcking way. They will reach the season ticket quota within the first day...guaranteed. This city loves hockey Edited June 3, 2011 by '7'
adam85491
13,000 is a sh!t ton. Does Montreal even have that many? Obviously the numbers are skewed, since hockey is returning after over a decade people want to be the first to see them play again. Wouldn't be surprised to see that number dip if they have a bad year though.

nyrsuck26
Qusetion: By "Drive to 13,000," do they mean 13,000 FULL season ticket holders or 13,000 total season tickets between full season tickets and partial season plans? I ask because 13,000 full season tickets season like a pretty huge number, but if it's total then I find it hard to believe that they won't reach it. Cachorro Louco
I have to confess I'm secretly rooting for them to be named something with "Manitoba" Just Because in Brasil "TOBA" is a slang for Anus... :D But on the On-Topic 13,000 season Tickets that's crazy even if it is divide Between Full and Partial Plans
jagknife
My link wow, if I had the cash to pissaway, I'd sign up for the waiting list and then just sell game-by-game.
jagknife
Season tickets for the Unnamed franchise are sold out. It took 7 [sEVEN] minutes from the general public opening to sell the remaining 8000+
Quinn01
Season tickets for the Unnamed franchise are sold out. It took 7 [sEVEN] minutes from the general public opening to sell the remaining 8000+ Its got to be the record for the NHL if not any sports franchise. Thats just crazy. Good for them. Just proof that this was a good move. Now the team has to play their part and be competitive.

MadDog2020
Well, we should be hearing something soon on the name if they hit that mark already. I really hope they go with Jets.
njskaguy33
I just feel for the fans of the Thrashers, considering how close we were to losing our team in '95. Also, on the naming front, let's go soccer-style and have a Winnepeg Somethings-style name. Nah, let's think outside of the box: First ever sports franchised named for an internet meme started by a rich celebrity cokehead. That's right, I vote we call the new team, simply...#WINNINGpeg. Not for nothing, this deserved a bigger laugh than it got in this thread. Well done, sir! As for the relocation, if it goes down, I just remember how it felt as a Devils fan to have all those Nashville rumors running around. Little fan support or not, there were people in the seats in Atlanta and those fans are left hurting. As for Winnipeg, I know nothing about the place aside from that Weakerthans song. If the sponsors are there and the people are into it, I say why not. As for a name, go back to the Jets. It's classic and ties connections to the past....that and I can't think of anything more witty
