The deal includes no performance bonus package, but carries the entry-level maximum NHL salary, including the signing bonus and any games-played bonus, of $925,000 per season. That will be Larsson’s salary cap hit if he is on the NHL roster.

The AHL salary will be the maximun $70,000 per season.

Lamoriello made a point of giving Larsson credit for accepting a deal without any performance bonuses to be a Devil and fit in with all the other players in the organization.

“That is impressive,” Lamoriello said.

Lamoriello said he doesn't believe in them and Larsson made a decision to sign without individual bonus packages.

Lamoriello: "That's a decision the player made to be part of the Devils and not to be any different than anyone else in that locker room."

There's some team-first mentality for ya

That's really surprising. Lets wait to see what the real terms are, but that's impressive in and of itself.

heck yes. sounds like it might be a decent cap hit, but we shall see. not like nugent-hopkins whose contract is all bonuses, i think (up to 3.75 mil unless i'm mistaken, which i might be). let's hope lou got larsson for less than 2M.

Not to look into these things too much, but I will  so fvcking hard if the signing bonus he received is equal to about what he would've received with performance bonuses.

ie, if Lou completely dodged a high cap hit by using the signing bonus as a 'loophole'

Edit: I think I'm misunderstanding this

so, what about the signing bonus?

signing bonuses are built into the contract. he will receive $925,000 per season, and $92,500 of that is a signing bonus paid on july 1 (i think) each year.

the thing about most of the performance bonuses is that they are near impossible to attain.

Well wait, how the hell did Lou pull that off?

Edit: I missed your edit, :doh1:

So most rookies don't even hit their performance bonuses, correct?
