franconianhell
I don't know about the mass transit situation to the Colliseum, but european fans would all meet up at one specific point and maybe all catch the same train / bus that brings you to the arena. Would that be an idea for you? You wouldn't have to plan the transportation by yourself then. But of course i should mention that mass transit is ALWAYS included in the ticket with no extra fees... One of the downsides to the Coliseum i general is that there is no good mass transit option like there is for the Devils and Rangers.. Our best bet would have be to rent buses to take to the game.. It's something Islanders fans hope will change if/when they get a new arena Edited August 4, 2011 by Colin226
Colin226
So, here's some more info, which looks like it'll be confirmed once we pick a bus company: $42/ticket (paying the Islanders directly) ~$20/person for the bus ~$10/person for sandwiches to tailgate with BYOB So you're looking at around ~$75-$80/person for this trip. It's definitely going to be an awesome experience
Dead
By the way I would like to add it is close to $20 just in TOLLS to get from NJ to the sh!thole in Long Island. So the BUS is worth it in relation to tolls alone if you are thinking of driving. If I wasnt neck deep in school, I would jump on this now that bus transport is included
Scoopscj
That's a heck of a deal. I already talked with my friend and as long as there is transportation I'm in for at least two tickets..... Possibly bringing 3-5 more. I've sent the texts around to friends and I'll email with the exact number in a day or so. Great job Colin. Thanks Scoops

But we agree that it's a good value considering you get to sit in a section full of Devils fans, the bus ride out there is going to have an awesome atmosphere and is cheaper than if you drove yourself (plus it's your DD if you choose to drink), and in all it's going to be a great experience and something we can build on! Thanks!!
GoArmySports
Do you have to buy the bus ticket? I already live in NY and it would be easier to just meet you guys at the arena with my buddies.

I'm 99% sure you can just buy a game ticket through us (and access to the tailgate if you'd like, for an extra $10) Edited August 15, 2011 by Colin226

Nobody is going to bug us I'm assuming if we aren't beligerent right?

Now it is $10 just to tailgate with sandwiches? Will you be erecting an exclusive area in the Islanders parking lot and charge $10 to get in? Please explain. DevsMan84
haha. erecting. haha. It will be an exclusive Devils Army erection in the Islanders parking lot. Pay $10 for exclusive Devils Army tailgate to get your exclusive Devils Army sandwiches. (Sponsored by Subway)

I think it's still up in the air (we might rent out space or the bar at the Marriott, but we might also just have a tailgate and allow people to pre-pay for sandwiches).. So figure it will be $10 roughly for whatever pregame stuff we do Edited August 15, 2011 by Colin226

cj241
Cool thanks. Also, do you know when we have to register/pay by? Maybe you posted it but I am not seeing it. Thanks! We'd prefer sooner rather than later. If you don't want to pay the Islanders directly in full for the ticket, you can send half the payment to the paypal account set-up (just send it as a personal gift so there's no fees). So it would be $21 now and then $21 at a later date. If you are taking the bus, then you must include the $20 along with your deposit. For the person asking about the tailgating option - that payment will be included at a later date, we still need to finalize details about how we're doing the sandwiches and other stuff, so that information will come out as we get closer to the event. *For the guy under 21...if we don't see it, there's no scene, I have no idea what you're talking about (get my drift)! Everyone taking the bus will have to sign a waiver saying the Devils aren't responsible for anything that happens. Also, there's a chance that there may be a $5 parking fee for the parking deck - details about that will come out later, but the bus will depart from the Prudential Center. Scoopscj
I just sent off my email. Again, great job with this. I'd love to do this in other stadiums like the Caps which is only a few hours away or Philly. F those Flyer bastages. Having a bus really makes this worthwhile. Can't wait to see the other crazy fans. I hope we are loud and make our numbers heard in the stadium. Scoops

DevsMan84
Awesome!! Yeah we definitely want to do the Flyers and Caps (maybe Bruins and Penguins too).. We could probably even give priority for those trips to people who go on this one but we'll see Priority huh? Now look who is flushed with power since he just made it up to GM on his posts huh? Colin226
Priority huh? Now look who is flushed with power since he just made it up to GM on his posts huh? Oh crap!! I meant to post #4,000 in the thread where I made my first post.. Damn it!! Well the priority thing is completely unofficial and hasn't been discussed so don't read into it, but I will suggest it to the other Generals as it's a good way to get people to commit.. The team does it and it works lol
Scoopscj
Whatever you do, don't make this an elite thing where you annoy others that can't make these on a regular basis. If you do other trips perhaps send an email out first to those that have gone before but don't make this a snob thing. I know that's not your intention but I see it happening with the supporters section and those that aren't in it. There is some animosity towards those that have the supporter season tix. This is a wonderful idea and you will not be able to please everyone. I appreciate the organization and effort. Thanks Scoops

Yeah this (and all future trips) is open to anyone who wants to go.. The priority thing would just be, as you said, an email to previous participants since we know if they went on one trip they'd probably be interested in a second trip.. Simple marketing and nothing more.. But our trips will always always open to every fan, no closed groups or clicks..
