Quinn01
It's from the Flickr account from someone who has a ton of New York Islanders-related images uploaded and claims to have been "billed as Graphic Designer in the Table of Contents" of the Islanders 2010-11 Official Yearbook. The account name is "roblgraphicd"; Robert Lawlor Jr. is listed as a graphic designer for the Islanders.• The description of this image: "2011-12 Season will be the first in which the Islanders take part in the NHL Alternate Jersey program. Featuring modern panels and a somewhat retro type treatment, the jersey also includes the 40th Anniversary logo as a shoulder patch." (Something that gives us pause: The Islanders of course have already had a third jersey during the Reebok years.) Via Puckdaddy.com I dont like them at all. I would much rather them keep the 3rds they already have. It doesnt fit with their color scheme.

Microwavepizza
i think the Isles have more 3rd jerseys than anyone...
jim777
I'd rather the old FishSticks jersey, this one is awful. It's what the Mets would wear if they skated or something. Also, shouldn't it say "Brooklyn" on it, or too soon? Edited August 4, 2011 by jim777
ghdi
the black is an interesting addition, but I also sorta like it Its very Knicks-ish.

devilsfan26
I find them ridiculously hideous, but they may not end up looking like that based on what I read earlier on the IceJerseys forum. NYIJM29 posted "Unfortunately, it sounds like that is going to be it. However, on Facebook, the Official Islanders page acknowledged that there have been numerous comments that were protesting the black jerseys and asked the FB followers to post what they wanted to see/what their jersey would look like. Hopefully they take that into consideration." You can read the thread here.
Random Poster
The number on the pants, i like it alot. The color combo makes it look like the redheaded stepchild of a Mets jersey. Edited August 4, 2011 by SJP20

Devs4LIFE
I hope these aren't the real jerseys. NHL jerseys have been ugly ever since RBK introduced their edge jerseys, I feel like teams are all finally starting to get decent Uniforms. This would be a step in the wrong direction. DevsMan84
Their jerseys right now are pretty good and I liked their orange jersey that Quinn had in his post. The jersey just does not look right to me and the lettering is a little off to me. Thumbs down from me. I think someone should put a stop or court order against teams with way too many jerseys. I am looking at you Vancouver, LA Kings, and Dallas.
twillms73
I don't like the black in the Mets jersey and I don't like it for the Isles. Personally, I prefer the orange ones.

I think a lot of the reason why at first a lot of Edge jerseys looked terrible was a lot of times put those stupid-looking piping on them. Over the past few seasons teams have been getting rid of them and going more towards a traditional look. Florida just got rid of their piping off their jerseys very recently. Amberite
I actually like them. The only thing I would change is get rid of the white background on the nameplate on the back.
ZeroGravityFat
anything that doesn't have their butt ugly logo is great imo.

Indeed, also it is pretty clear that Reebok had a lot more influence than they should have, as is evidenced by multiple teams using the exact same template and Lou's quote that was something along the lines of "You have no idea what we had to go through to keep our jerseys." MantaRay
I think they should just change the whole color scheme for their home games in Kansas City.
Random Poster
anything that doesn't have their butt ugly logo is great imo. Their logo is one of the classics in all of hockey next to the Original 6. There's nothing wrong with it other then the tarnish over the last 15 years or so. This is one of the very few things I am glad Lou keeps a tight grip on. I would have to have over a half-dozen different jersey schemes to try to collect. Also I think this is another reason why the Devils will never be in the Winter classic for a very long time amongst other more obvious reasons. Every team who has played in them puts on a classic or re-designed jersey. Lou would not allow this for the team. You could argue that the Devils can put in the Christmas tree jerseys but that will never happen as they are already out and Reebok and the NHL need to sell more jerseys.
