yankeesjetsfan
If this is true, it would tick me off a bit as I upgraded my crapberry in March to an Epic. The Epic is an upgrade, but the 4G network stinks in my apt. It's "sleeping" a lot of the time, I sometimes don't get text messages or pics until hours later and I still roam at times. The Super amoled screen is cool, but you can't see it outside and don't get me started on the battery life. Had I known Spint was getting iphone, I would have held off. Now, I'm probably going to have to shell 600.00 for one if I want it, or wait another year until I get my 150.00 upgrade credit. Mike as someone who works for the company we are all in the dark on that subject and since they'll want a lot of hype I'd say that its still a long shot to get that release date...bI ut its always possible. And about the 4G, if you don't get it that well then switch it off because the phone won't use 3G for data if you have it searching for 4G...thats why you aren't getting your messages. Plus the 4G is only really good when you are using the phone for data anyway. Should help you out a lot. About the battery...my phone (had an Epic too) would, when fully charged at 9:30am would last until the next morning, thats with moderate to heavy use throughout the day. If its not lasting that long then go into a service and repair shop and have them test the battery...also do the normal checks to extend the battery life without actually changing the way you use the phone...1) don't use a task killer or battery manager app, the epic has one built in. 2) turn off wi-fi, bluetooth, and 4G when not in use (again, that 4Gzzz will drain the battery because your phone is constantly searching for 4G service. 3) in the settings/display turn off auto brightness...that little sensor that makes the screen black when the phone is up against your face when you are talking on it is also constantly testing the lighting conditions to adjust your brightness....hopefully that helps you a bit.... jim777
My crappy LG Envy Touch died yesterday, so I had to grab a phone yesterday. I had been nursing a dying phone since March, but that terrible earthquake and tsunami in Japan delayed the i5 just the slightest bit too long for me. I am also hearing Oct. 7th for Verizon, too, to stay on topic. I grabbed a Samsung Charge, and it is insane how far phones have come!
