'7'
you know that supposedly boring team in 1995 was coming off a 305 goal season, 2nd in the NHL in 94. That team had some firepower, it was never as boring as this Devils team.
Zamode
Well, we could be proven wrong, there could be changes made, we just don't know. The team, with the older players especially, is bound to hit the skids sooner or later. That is a fact and every team goes through transitions. I think we should try to pick out the positive things, like 4-1 before we expect The End coming in the 4th week of October.
LetsGoDevils
TO-DATE MARTY ISN'T IN THE TOP 10 goalie for GAA or % Saves, so things aren't clicking but they have 4 wins. Wrong. Going into Thursday night's games Brodeur is:* 7th in GAA (1.80) 9th in save % (92.7%) Tied for 1st in Wins (4) *stats by ESPN The season is still too young to be nitpicking, however. Triumph
That team also lost Nicholls and Semak going into the 95 season, had Claude Lemieux's game drop off to nothing in the regular season.. You really want to compare Elias and Gilmour? Elias works on his own, he doesn't need people around him. Gilmour was given squat to work with, Guerin just didn't cut it as his wing. Elias is a much better player than Gilmour was on the Devils. There's simply no comparison. Not only is he a better scorer, he's a near equal passer, isn't as injury prone, is faster, has a better shot, is a better stickhandler, and while not being as chippy as Gilmour, is not a total wimp. No comparison. Devils would get to the 2nd round with this team, but this team won't be together by April so it's a silly debate.
