Quinn01
First meeting of 4 for these two teams. Forward Ilya Kovalchuk and defenseman Andy Greene will miss the Devils’ game tonight against the Winnipeg Jets because of injuries.Kovalchuk pulled a leg muscle late in the Devils’ 4-3 shootout win in Philadelphia on Thursday. Greene had been trying to play through a lower-body injury before sitting out Thursday’s game. Kovalchuk tried skating during the morning skate today, but left about halfway through and still had a noticeable limp in the locker room afterward. “I think it’s a little too early so I don’t want to push it and get it worse,” Kovalchuk said. Goaltender Johan Hedberg said his back is “100 percent” after getting treatment on it Friday and he had no problems with it during the morning skate. He will dress as Martin Brodeur’s backup tonight. Devils coach Pete DeBoer said left wing Eric Boulton still is not ready to return from his sore right hand. With Kovalchuk out, Rod Pelley will get in the lineup after being a healthy scratch the last four games. Pelley will play left wing on the fourth line with Brad Mills and Cam Janssen. Clarkson will move up to take Kovys place and Fraser will get the spot of Greene. http://blogs.northjersey.com/blogs/fireice/comments/kovalchuk_greene_to_miss_devils_game_vs._winnipeg_tonight_with_injuries/ Let's Go Devils!!!! From this mornings skate: Parise-Henrique-Clarkson Sykora-Elias-Zubrus Palmieri-Carter-Tedenby Pelley-Mills-Janssen Salvador-Larsson Tallinder-Fayne Fraser-Volchenkov Side Note: DeBoer expects Zajac will be back before Christmas. ^TG Edited November 5, 2011 by Quinn01

NJDevs4978
Wow this lineup's getting pretty thin, although at least it isn't quite the doomsday scenario with Kovy just yet. Doesn't seem like he'll be out for weeks, but then again who knows with this team. Marty better be on point tonight.

Onddeck
sucks kovy isn't playing but i'd way rather be safe than have him re-aggravate it. Marty better give us a good game, i dont want to fall behind Wpg without Kovy in the lineup And this Defense better shape up... or else
Jas0nMacIsaac
This may be good for the PP long term, get them thinking away from Kovalchuk for a game. Edited November 5, 2011 by Jas0nMacIsaac

skeeter
Last Devils-Jets game I went to was a 4-1 win 16 years ago. I could deal with that tonight.

Quinn01
henrique on the first line? man. he's good but not THAT good. I agree. I think that people are putting just a tad bit to much trust in this kid. Hopefully he proves me wrong. he did have a strong game 2 nights ago. NJDevs4978
henrique on the first line? man. he's good but not THAT good. Who else are they going to play up there? Playing Elias 23 or so minutes a night (since he plays PP and PK) isn't going to work long-term either. Carter and Mills are your other center of choice, unless you move Zubrus there just when he's gotten going on the wing.

Jas0nMacIsaac
henrique on the first line? man. he's good but not THAT good. Do you not follow the Devils, this is his 3rd game playing top line and he doesn't look out of place.

MadDog2020
Last Devils-Jets game I went to was a 4-1 win 16 years ago. I could deal with that tonight. I was at the same game- October of '95. I think it was like the second or third game of the season that year. It was a sparse gathering from what I remember lol.
JustinZ
Can't say I'm confident about this one. That line-up wouldn't scare anyone.
