'7'
i still hate his guts and he still plays only when he feels like it he's never been consistent, but then again nobody is in the NHL nowadays!! He always shows up for the playoffs and that's what matters! Zednik hits the empty net!!!!!!
Don
Welp, Montreal has their number.... Boston didn't play well the second half of this series and I'm sure Thorton's leadership will continue to be in doubt after tonight. Ah well, I guess I'll have to keep a low profile tomorrow and keep away from the Canadiens fans. But I guess if there is a silver lining, I have 5 Lightning in my hockey pool and the TB-Montreal series should be a score-fest.

Derek21
Alright Alex Kovalev. He takes his name off the weasel list. Nice. I feel sorry for Raycroft. He didn't deserve this. But hey, Boston has choked. Hey Has, what do you think that idiot Seek-a-clue is going to be saying now ? That kind of fan kind what they deserved. History has been rewritten! Canadiens show heart of lions. They could have thrown in the towel after Kovalev's boneheaded play. But instead, they picked each other up and played great. Congrats to them on a great comeback. Wow... so one matchup is set: (1) Tampa Bay vs (7) Montreal If I were Philly, Ottawa and Toronto, I'd be livid. Go Flames Go!!!!!!!!
NJayDevil
23-8 vs Bruins in the playoffs now.
NJDevs4978
I can't believe Montreal stuck it to Boston AGAIN Well I did pick the Habs before the series but really, after Game 4 it looked over not just cause of the 3-1 deficit but because all of the bad karma in Montreal after the Ribero and Kovalev things. Injured or not, Boston's leader failed his first big test. Thornton had one lousy point in thirteen games against the Habs this year
HellOnICE
GO HABS.....Kovy must feel a little relieved.

NJDevs4978
Know most of you hate him but the feature they ran on Gary Thorne was nice. Shows how hard he works. Doubleduty for Thorne today. I kinda think that's why he's such an airhead sometimes...he does pile up the frequent flyer mileage

NJDevs4978
Why couldn't we get Bruins for the first round?? ARGH We wouldnt have beaten them Naw, the uniform beat Boston. They're intimidated by the Habs, the way the Red Sox are by the Yankees.
'7'
Thornton should be stripped of the captaincy. He was semi-visible today with the puck, but only had 1 real good scoring chance and was a -2. after a promising 101 point season last year he took a giant leap backwards this year. Jason Allison playoff stats 25gp 7 goals 18 assists 25 points Joe Thornton playoff stats 35gp 6 goals 12 assists 18 points I have a feeling the Habs will represent the East in the Cup Finals. Derek21
2:10 left... History staring these two Original Six teams in the face:Boston never blew a 3-1 lead Montreal never cameback from a 3-1 deficit Mtl has won 22 of 29 series lol digging deep for those stats eh? They're probably at his fingertips. LMAO... not really. They have mentioned it on air a few times. So I just memorized it . I hope the Calgary-Nucks game is as good as the one we saw just now. One thing on Alex Kovalev: He is what most say. An enigma that could be the best player in the league if he wanted. All that said, he's been a great playoff performer and he proved it once again. For some reason, he's usually able to elevate his game to the high level it should have been for his entire career. I'm just glad he was able to have a key hand in Montreal's comeback because he was an awful goat for that one play. Good for Alex. Congrats! Ochen horosho Alexei . Don
Hrm. Interesting. Montreal vs the QMJHL All-Stars + a superstar from Laval. I wonder if any loyalties are split in that province? Edited April 20, 2004 by Don Whiting
Ice Man
Habs deserved to win this round. Boston was a disaster in the making, but they went 7 games.
Elias Sports Bureau
Me thinketh the B's fans feel like we did in 2002. There really is a difference when you can hold your head up. And I do in regards to our team this year. And they can't. Jeez, 0 points for Thornton. And we had to WORK to keep him neutralized, right, Mads? Elias Sports Bureau
Why couldn't we get Bruins for the first round?? ARGH We wouldnt have beaten them You don't know that. And I don't think that. We played with the Flyers, twice the team the B's are. At least in height. And we had reason to be confident. But you do never know until you play the game. The way the Habs ended the season, they looked like easy pickens. And the way they've fought amongst themselves all year... and it was a baaaad idea letting Kovy wake up.
