95Crash
Looked like McDonagh might've gotten hurt at the end there. I'm surprised more Rangers don't get injured the way they're always dropping down to block shots.
Devil Fan
For Ottawa to win, they better stopped centering the puck without anybody in front. The Sens were soft and turned pucks over countless times.
Zubie#8
The Hawks once again tie the gm late with a few seconds left, just like game 1. This is the best series so far.

'7'
So does Hagelin get suspended or does Colon Campbell give his fav team a slap on the wrist? deliberate, targeted the head, Alfredsson might be concussed and missed the rest of the game. has to be a suspension

SterioDesign
Wow... What a dumb move by Aucoin
devilsrule33
I wouldn't put that on Aucoin. Who was his partner who had time and space and decided to just calmly drop it back to Aucoin. He is absolutely gassed after that long shift and has a fresh forechecker all over him. His legs probably feel like cement and his only move was to try and shoot it out. But that other player...what is he doing? He had so much time and just skated around and dumped it back. Poor Coyotes fans...
lucifer91
I want a video of the dude singing gatorade in the Waterboy, then of dubinsky flipping out and throwing the gatorade jug Although if a devils player got ejected for that I would be pissed

But, yeah, I'd be pissed if that were a Dev, too. It's a stupid call. Why don't we throw the third guy out in every scum when someone else jumps in because that happens every single game of the season? The issue was Dubinsky wasn't even a clear third man in. As he goes to get involved and jump in...it becomes a pile up within half a second. And the thing about the third-man in rule is that I imagine it is there to avoid double team situations or unfair advantage where two guys are fighting or wrestling and someone just comes in and sucker punches you from the side. In this case, Carkner tackles Boyle out of nowhere and just hammers the living sh!t out of him with 20 straight punches. As a teammate, you are supposed to stand and watch Boyle get his ass kicked where he can't even defend himself without doing anything? It wasn't an even fight to begin with. It was a one man ass kicking. Just a sh!tty decision. Edited April 15, 2012 by devilsrule33

If someone had come in to break up Boyle and Karlsson in the last game, he might've gotten a third man in penalty. Salvador narrowly avoided a third man in call during the Rangers-Devils brawl but he still got a 10 minute misconduct when his teammate was clearly injured and he was trying to stop the fight. I guess Dubinsky should have flagged down a linesman, grabbed him by the hand and escorted him to the Carkner-Boyle altercation to break it up. At that point, maybe Boyle would have been dead. I know Carkner has a hearing, but it's kind of funny where we debate if this guy should get suspended for this hit or that hit, but no one really thinks twice about a guy jumping someone from behind and throwing punch after to punch to his face. Maybe it'll make Boyle think twice about going after Karlsson while his team is on the PK and in a spot where the refs are always too gutless to ever call a penalty. You want to protect your teammate, doesn't matter what the situation is, you get tossed - that's the rule. And yeah, Carkner should get suspended. But you know that the NHL front office are ex-NHL players and they look favorably on this sort of justice, even still. Vic Rattlehead18
Maybe dubinsky did something in that scrum that we can't see and warrants a roughing penalty. Then they probably both got game misconducts for chirping in the box.
Sarge18
Where Dubinski got himself in trouble is that he dropped his gloves and raced into the pile looking like he was going to start throwing, not just to pull Carkner off Boyle. I have to imagine if he keeps his mitts on and doesnt jump into the pile he ends up with a fate more like Salvador. And again we run into a situation where the players feel like they have to sort out justice because the league is too dumb to do it first. If Boyle was merely penalized for his game 1 antics, I doubt he gets jumped. Anyway we have 3 hearings today, Hagellin, Carkner, and Shaw. There should be a 4th. How Burns isnt getting one for this chicken wing is beyond me.
Triumph
Haha that elbow is way worse than Volchenkov's last year. Wow, what a miss - $2500 lighter, I guess Burns won't be able to get that ivory back scratcher he wanted.

Salvador narrowly avoided a third man in call during the Rangers-Devils brawl but he still got a 10 minute misconduct when his teammate was clearly injured and he was trying to stop the fight. Kerry Fraser said that he would have given Carkner a match penalty, which would mean he wouldn't have to give Dubinsky the third man in. However the rule is pretty clear that a match penalty can only be given in the event of an injury. This is my problem with the NHL rule book. It is overly prescriptive, and I think it makes the game harder to officiate because it handcuffs the officials in "common sense" situations like this. hockey3893498
the rangers had that game, and probably the series won, before the hagelin elbow. now youve got to wonder if that costs them the series. hagelin could miss a few games and it might have given ottawa a rally cry going home around their beloved retiring captain if he's done from a concussion everyone and their cousin knew that big stiff boyle was going to have a bullseye on his back after game 1. if carkner gets tossed for a few games, will it hurt them? of course not. It was a clear message sent by ottawa.
