Demonic26
I don't care what the excuse is. He is the reason we lost. this is probably the only time I will ever agree with you... He sucks
Demonic26
1. He can't fvcking backcheck 2. He can't deke 3. He can't fvcking get a shot past the defending player on top of him
Devil Dan 56
Well, one loss sure erases the good vibes from those overtime wins pretty quick. Buncha fair weather Fredericks up in this piece.
mouse
He was our best player this season. Even if he won't admit it, he's hurt. Even bad Kovalchuk is fast. He can barely skate out there now. If he's not getting better, leave him out there, because the d has to at least respect his shot, and we have nobody to replace him. If he might get better, sit him a game or 2 and hope the rest helps.
El Diablo
He does suck .. and he is the reason we lost today -- bench him already .... oh dear ... I forgot to take my zoloft ... did anyone watch the same game I saw? jeebus we had no business getting a look @ OT - we should have stole it somehow. LucifersDog
Yeah bench him ever though he appears to be hurt and is still being used for double time. Instead play Cam Janssen that's a winner! (Sarcasm).
mouse
He wasn't injured then. Now they should be looking to limit his time. This. With Zajac back, we don't need him on the kill. Zach Henrique Zajac Poni Elias Zubs And we could still play Carter out there in a pinch.
MadDog2020
This. With Zajac back, we don't need him on the kill. Zach Henrique Zajac Poni Elias Zubs And we could still play Carter out there in a pinch. I agree 100%. It's obvious he's injured, he doesn't need to be killing penalties when we have others who are more than capable of it.
DJ Eco
Well, one loss sure erases the good vibes from those overtime wins pretty quick. Buncha fair weather Fredericks up in this piece. Unfortunately true. A tight loss like this brings out all the crazies. This game could have been worse. Kovalchuk is injured, it's obvious. Our players got tired by the 3rd period, it's obvious. Game 2 is our opportunity to bring things back to an even keel.
Vic Rattlehead18
Id rather have him benched and healed than standing around for 20 minutes like he did today. Even on the pp no one passed to him because he can't rip the slapshot either. And the flyers know he's injured so they barely cover him anyway. Jerrydevil
It's kinda tough to bench him, but it's also tough to "limit the damage he could do." If you play him, he's gotta take a regular shift, right? I agree that he shouldn't be killing penalties. But he's still going to be out there for 17 minutes or so. Maybe he can just put some ice on it.
overtime98
No shots on goal for Kovalchuk? yes he is a BIG reason why we lost ...........your best players have to be your best players come playoff time... he is one of our best players and he isnt being one of our best players. If its a groin or hip it won't be healed until he takes a month or so off. They are playing him because it's all they can do.

And what makes anyone think sitting him for two or three games is going to heal it? He already sat six days going into the playoffs and still looked like he was skating at half speed. devlman
Easily the worst game I've ever seen him play. Bench him. Just sit him a game. An extra day off is an extra healthier Kovy. And anything a little better than tonight will do. Edited April 30, 2012 by devlman
Zubie#8
It's really a shame that he is hurt now. He had a great season and nobody will remember it because of his postseason play. I say he shouldn't get any PK time and be put on the third line. Maybe have the lines like this... Parise Elias Zubrus Sykora Zajac Ponikarovsky Kovalchuk Henrique Clarkson Or maybe just reunite the Parise Zajac Kovy line, seems like they helped Kovy out a lot in the first series. Whatever happens it really is just a shame. Edited April 30, 2012 by Zubie#
Devils Pride 26
Him being hurt should have no effect of his inability to shoot an open shot on the power play. Terrible game.
DJ Eco
Him being hurt should have no effect of his inability to shoot an open shot on the power play. Terrible game. It might. Think about how many muscles it takes to take a one-timer slapshot!... But yeah, if it's THAT serious that he can't pull off a one-timer, then we're in trouble

But yeah, if it's THAT serious that he can't pull off a one-timer, then we're in trouble I call bullsh!t. It's one thing to be labored while skating, if he can't use his shot either, he shouldn't be playing. Period. Those are his top two attributes, he's rather useless without either of them. Not to mention, no injury is an excuse for him passing the puck like it's a live hand grenade.
