Derlique
Good to see boucher still producing without galcheniuk 9 pts in 4 games. I know it's a small sample size, but it is very encouraging
thefiestygoat
It's nice to see Boucher consistently putting up points this year since he did that in bunches last year. His longest pointless streaks are 4 games and 3 games, other than that he's been money.
Jerseydevils0324
Noteworthy, Boucher is the first player to reach 30 goals in the OHL this season, obviously leading the league!

SterioDesign
Reid Boucher's streak of 7 games with at least 2 points was snapped today as he was held off the scoresheet in a 2-1 Sarnia win vs. Niagara. thats still a "good" bad news in my book

thefiestygoat
I only watched the first period of the game since it was hard to watch Michigan since they were all out of sorts. I wouldn't want to judge Merrill in his first game back but it was great to see him on the first pair and playing on the top PP unit. It was obvious he was rusty but he still showed flashes of being the player he can be.
Devils731
I wrote this over at HF: I watched most of Merrill's third period. Michigan lost 5-1, so I guess everyone played pretty crappy, but Merrill in the 3rd period should of had 2 assists. Merrill had a faux-shot pass that froze the goalie and gave his teammate a wide open net to shovel the puck into but the guy couldn't get a handle on the puck. Merrill also found a seam during a PP that created a 2 on 0 for Michigan from the blue line in, they screwed up their pass and didn't really get a shot off. Overall, for the only 1 period I saw, he skated really nicely, had good positioning in the defensive zone, and seemed to see the ice well on both sides of the puck. That period by Michigan was horrible though. Their opponents were playing good systematic, disciplined hockey while Michigan looked like it had no system of game plan whatsoever, just everyone trying to make the best 1 on 1 play they can at every moment. Maybe things looked different when it was 0-0 as compared to 5-1.
Derlique
I know +/- doesn't mean crap, but the fact that he and Trouba had an even rating in a blowout is a good sign
Triumph
Yeah I was barely watching but every time Bowling Green scored I'd look up to see if Merrill was on the ice.

thefiestygoat
Does merril look better than Trouba? I'd love to hear someone like Jas0n MacIsaac or any of the other people here that get to follow prospects chime in on this. I've only seen Merrill play a handful of games last year between the WJC and Michigan and just Trouba in the most recent WJC. I don't feel qualified to compare them based on viewings that limited but I'd say both their ceilings are really high with Trouba more likely to get there.
