LOS ANGELES (AP) - The Los Angeles Kings retained a key member of their defence corps Friday, agreeing to a four-year contract with blueliner Lubomir Visnovsky.

As per team policy, terms of the agreement were not announced.

Visnovsky, 27, had eight goals and 21 assists in 58 games for the Kings. The five-foot-10, 188-pound Slovak finished second on the team in ice time with 24:02 per game.

``We are happy to have a long-term agreement with Lubomir,'' said Kings general manager Dave Taylor. ``He is an important part of our team. He generates a lot of offence from his position and he is a key member of our power play.''

A fourth-round pick of the Kings in 2000, Visnovsky has 113 points in 268 career NHL games. He will also represent Slovakia at this summer's World Cup of Hockey.
