Elias and Zubrus both could have become unrestricted free agents and tested the market beginning Friday.
Devil Dan 56
Are you sure? I have it on good authority that Lou is sitting around doing nothing...
MantaRay
I will rest easier When it's official that Lou re-signs our best player in Elias. Hopefully, a three year deal, I would overpay, he is too valueable to lose.
2ELIAS6
I also read this else where.. Could have pretty much figured he would be coming back.. Still very anxious to hear about clarkson now

SterioDesign
per TG Hearing Elias' contract to remain Devil is basically done. Might be some final details to work out. Multi-year. Don't know other details. but... Lamoriello on re-signing Clarkson: "David, I don’t know at this point. We’ll certainly talk and I’ll leave it at that.” Edited July 1, 2013 by SterioDesign

CarpathianForest
It must be interesting when a player signs a new deal. I wonder if they like go buy a yacht right after.
sokar
I hope Lou gets it done. I would be ok with 3 yr deal. I wonder if Clarkson is asking some where between 5 to 6mil, if he is the Devils should look else where
ZeroGravityFat
3 years done deal.
MantaRay
3 years done deal. Awesome!!!!! That's makes us one step closer to making the playoffs next year. Now, we need Clarkson.

CarpathianForest
glad to hear elias is just about back!.. but damn i will be so disappointed if clarkson doesnt work out Like I mentioned in the UFA thread if Clarkson walks we should go after TJ Galiardi. We could probably get him for less than 2M
ZeroGravityFat
Awesome!!!!! That's makes us one step closer to making the playoffs next year. Now, we need Clarkson. clarkson is as good as gone. don't even bother thinking about him anymore.
CarpathianForest
clarkson is as good as gone. don't even bother thinking about him anymore. Galiardi! I'm telling you! Cheaper alternative to Clarkson.
MantaRay
clarkson is as good as gone. don't even bother thinking about him anymore. He is a unique player, but someone I don't want to overpay ($4.0 million per is fair too me), but I know his market value around the league, so would not be surprised if he signed elsewhere. But I can still hope, I know Lou is still pitching.
ZeroGravityFat
i'm guessing 6 million per to toronto.
2ELIAS6
i had faith that he would re sign here actually but after lou stating that he still has not gotten anywhere with him.. damn it just does not look good anymore.. but on a brighter note.. maybe its a good day to go buy an elias game worn from meigray
newarkdev01
Honestly I love Clarkson but it seems that alot of talent will become available due to buyouts and I just can't see locking someone up or overpaying until the CBA resets the market on contract values. I will be curious to see what a player like Clackson is worth on the open market.
DJ Eco
i'm guessing 6 million per to toronto. Yikes that'd be a terrible signing for them. Can't see why they'd want him so bad.
Pepperkorn
Galiardi! I'm telling you! Cheaper alternative to Clarkson. And Galiatard works even better!!
MantaRay
Yikes that'd be a terrible signing for them. Can't see why they'd want him so bad. Because he strong on the boards, can score, play on the PP, and will drop the gloves. He is a rare commoditiy, which is why I hope we sign him for fair value, otherwise he is going to be another buyout candidate in three years.
