Chelios, Shanahan and Niedermayer should be locks...Mogilny on the cusp though he probably won't get in. To be honest I'm not 100% sold on Niedermayer either, but no question he had hall of fame talent.

 

Richter is not a hall of famer

 

Burns deserves to go in

 

Lindros...too many injuries. Andreychuk will be viewed as a compiler. 

 

Outside of 1990-1994 Roenicks numbers are very ordinary

 

Fleury would be a good bet if he didn't screw things up himself. He was on a hall of fame pace pre substance issues

The case for Lindros has been made twofold:  He did have a streak of short-term dominance, and with some of the other names that have gotten in (like Bure and Neely), he should go too. 

 

re: Andreychuk, his career really breaks down into three distinct stages, as far as his offensive production goes.  He's also one of those guys that played in both the Live and Dead Puck Eras, so that should be taken into account when splitting his career up:

 

'82-'94:  877 GP, 908 Pts, 1.03 P/GP

'94-'97:  206 GP, 156 Pts, 0.76 P/GP

'97-'06:  556 GP, 274 Pts, 0.49 P/GP

 

If Andreychuk had retired after the '97 season, he finishes with 1083 GP and 1064 points (503 goals and 561 assists)...this is Joe Mullen territory (1062 GP, 502 G, 561 A, 1063 points), who went in with the 2000 class. Only 22 players have reached 500 goals in less games (Andreychuk did it in his 1070th game).  That body of work should probably be enough to get him in, though just about all of his more productive seasons came during Live Puck.  But he managed to stick around and still be an effective, though much less statistically dynamic, player for eight more seasons and 556 more games.  Should he be penalized for that, for being willing to make adjustments in his game and become a different kind of player?  I don't know.
