EYJr. is 0-3 with 3 strikeouts. Welcome to the regular season.

But he's the answer to the Mets' leadoff woes.  Just ask Passive.

At least Valverde's done a nice job coming out of the 'pen.

13 Ks for Nats pitching.  2 BBs.  Sandy does love acquiring hitters who don't hit for average, don't draw walks, but sure strike out a lot.

Parnell in, one pitch, single up the middle.  Nope, can't ever be easy.

there are going to be many maddening instances this year where the Mets score 12 runs in a game, then score 2 combined in the next 3 and strike out 35 times in the pricess

Most definitely.

Sad thing is the starting pitching will keep them in some of those low-output games, then the bullpen will come in and promptly torch away the game.

Quintanilla, Doofus, and Davis.  Can you say 0-for-3 with at least 2 Ks?

EDIT:  Watching this on GameCast, who's really up for the Mets this inning?

That's one K.

Quintanilla strikes out.

Sandy is the best.

14 Ks

Make that 15.  At least I had the 0-for-3 with 2 K right.

Go fvck yourself Sandy.

Just following game cast online at work- I notice the mets forum is complaining about an erratic strikezone. Is this the case? Of course it's not an excuse for having a pathetic bullpen but just wondering...

and now an outfield mishap. Not sure if Tejada completely to blame but I really do feel like blaming him

erratic strikezone yes, but I don't think it cost us the game. Simply bad pitching lost the game for us. The 3-2 to pitch before the Span hit I think was legit inside.

Actually the GM who couldn't be bothered to address any of the team's numerous problem areas is to blame.  2013 Part Deux indeed.
