Yeah, he's not great, but you can hide him 5v5 and still get the benefit of his skill on the PP. In the meantime maybe he'll learn from his mistakes in his own end. Gotta score to win though, even if he does cost us a few in the other end.

thats fair, but honestly power plays are fickle- yeah we're red hot now but we could just as easily go 0-10 in the next two games while gelinas continues to allow high quality chances 5v5. To my eyes the isles best chances (and one goal) came with the gelinas Merrill pairing on the ice, and it was the same thing last night.

Except that they've been doing this ALL YEAR with Gelinas.  Although he didn't have a lot to do with the PP goals tonight, still they're like a top five PP with him and a bottom five PP without him and that's not an exaggeration.

there is no doubt he helps on the pp but like I said, special teams tend to get hot and cold no matter who is on them.

For the record I'm still behind going with 7 d and using gelinas as a pp specialist and in favorable situations when we need goals. I know that won't help his development but at this point I want to make the playoffs more than I'm worried about him developing.
