ThreeCups 19
Wait guys, I have a friend who has the perfect solution... Get ready for this... It IS NOT a joke... Backup goaltender should be.... NIKOLAI KHABIBULIN!!! And yes, he is serious about it....
Namelesz 3
Just heard this on the NHL Network coverage. Didn't see anything official yet but that was the word they got and reported. "Its official the Brodeur era is over in NJ" TG saying its a one year, two-way contract....maybe this means backup duties can be rotated between him and Kinkaid ? Colorado Rockies 1976 6,897
Well, there goes my list...2-way deal for Clemmer though - we may see some Kinkaid yet. Yikes...he's been pretty bad the last couple of years. .874 and .896 save%s. Looks like Kinkaid is going to get a shot to win the backup job.

mfitz804 11,795
Why in the world would they sign someone with a worse GAA and save percentage than Brodeur??
Satans Hockey 3,774
This is awful. I hate this move. At least sign a real backup. Thanks for everything Marty. I hope you retire. Edited July 1, 2014 by Satans Hockey

MadDog2020 9,050
Why in the world would they sign someone with a worse GAA and save percentage than Brodeur?? Since its 2-way, probably to play in Albany.
Colorado Rockies 1976 6,897
Why in the world would they sign someone with a worse GAA and save percentage than Brodeur?? They're hoping Kinkaid wins the job. Clemmer (I hope) was signed to be the #3 guy, a veteran with NHL experience who can step in if Kinkaid gets hurt or doesn't get it done. I just can't believe he's the clear #2. Cory's definitely not threatened now...he's going to get 65+ games for sure with who he's got behind him. But it's REALLY scary to think what could happen if he ever got hurt. A tandem of Clemmer and Kinkaid? Yikes, yikes, and yikes.

Now that he knows Marty isn't coming back, hopefully that will get done soon.
