thecoffeecake
Button's Final Draft Rankings http://www.tsn.ca/talent/craig-s-list-final-ranking-1.294692 Hanifin at 12 ?!? Barzal/Ratanen at 15/16 too. Maybe he's trying to prove a point or something. But I have seen barzal ranked that low beforeAnd at this point, assuming we'll see McDavid, Eichel, Hanifin, and strome in that order, which seemed to be the consensus not too long ago, i'm hoping for Marner if he slips past Carolina, or one of barzal or ratanen, and fingers crossed Crouse ends up in Philly Edited May 30, 2015 by thecoffeecake
Devilsfan118
https://twitter.com/TGfireandice/status/604427841703280640 Anthony Brodeur not given a contract offer. He's back into the draft pool this year. I'd imagine it's hard to justify a spot on him. It was a special moment drafting the kid. But I'd say the Devils don't owe him anything else. thecoffeecake
He must really be garbage. Behind Kinkaid, there's nothing worth NHL minutes in the organization. I don't have Wedge's numbers in front of me, but I probably could have gotten those ten minutes in relief of Hedberg whenever ago. At least I think he got an appearance that year. MadDog2020
I think we'll draft a goalie in the later rounds this year. Not really going out on a limb there though I don't think, there's literally nothing in the organization behind Kinkaid. CommonDreads
Just for the sake of conversation, I'm apart of a community Mock Draft on another forum (everyone chose a team and made the picks for the team they chose, we're doing 3 full rounds), and I just finished doing pick #41, so far i've gotten: 6. Mathew Barzal, C, Seattle (WHL) 36. Paul Bittner, LW, Portland (WHL) 41. Thomas Novak, C, Waterloo (USHL) I think those would be great first three choices for the Devils, adds some skill and speed and a bit more physicality with Bittner. I'm eyeing one of Dmytro Timashov or Jack Roslovic at #67.
Marshall
Kylington at 47 seems a bit contrarian. An interesting player that I've read a little about is Joel Eriksson Ek, who Button has as 13. Anyone here have any tidbits? Kylington at 47 is preposterous. I put it down to scouts not really watching the Swedish second division. Joel Eriksson Ek is...not the 13th best skater in the draft. Second rounder, scored some really sweet goals in his SHL, was crushed terrotorially in a sheltered role (tracked a lot of FBK games incl. all of Kylington's). Marshall
Do you have possession stats for all draft eligible Swedes who played in the SHL? No, but a few of them. Not mine to share though, I'm afraid. But if Kylington (or Rasmus Andersson) is available with the second 2nd round pick and NJ has only picked forwards with their first two...that'd be a monumental steal. Kid is flat out amazing. Erik Karlsson-type player but with less offense.
Derlique
Barzel, Bracco and a Swedish dman please! I accept that there's no way the Devils pick Barzal AND another smallish forward. Conte loves size

William D'Aquila
Not sure that Conte loves size. Devils have been known to draft smaller forwards.
Marshall
In fairness I think Conte goes for skilled guys in the first three or so rounds and then when he should take fliers on boom/bust skill guys he starts picking WHL grinders.
HellOnICE
I really want Marner the more I read. The only thing that'll help us is if someone takes Lawson Crouse at 4 or 5. DOn't see it.

Daniel
Teams could really like Provorov. Or Werenski for that matter. Probably as good as Trouba was at Michigan, but one year younger. His point totals were also better than Hanifin's. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
CommonDreads
As long as we take a forward at 36, we're getting a very good player there. This draft is so incredibly deep it's pretty unreal.

I want Conte out that's for sure. No need to can him before the draft but if you can get someone else to "help him" take over. Any scouts should have the same knowledge of the players going into the draft. That they are scouting for us or any other team, they all did their jobs. And with his track record Conte should have been fired quite awhile ago really.
