TheRedStorm
Like I've mentioned before I wouldn't be as upset as PDB was giving more minutes to younger players, even PK minutes, and we were in the same situation. They have to develop at the NHL level some time. Then you fire Pete right now, hire a short-term retread coach for a full youth movement, dump most of the vets, miss the playoffs (again...not like there's a chance it's not going to happen again, anyway) and dump the season in the name of youth development and a shot at Connor McDavid. Oh, and hope the fanbase shows up the rest of the year doing it in October.

At least there would be a rationale for it instead of overplaying a couple of traffic cones, a penalty getting machine, and a shorter, less-talented Adrien Brody look-a-like
Sneax
I'd love to hear triumphs take on Larsson after tonights game. Eye test it seemed like he got out muscled a bunch and even fell down and was scrambling twice tonight. He doesn't look like he belongs in the NHL, he's still a boy playing a mans game. DJ Eco
Ugh, it's been a while (a few years?) since we've left our building with a Rangers win, man does that suck. Turnout was embarrassing, so many empty seats at center ice and all throughout the uppers. And then the manner in which they lost, just fvcking embarrassing and pathetic. Ever since Henrique It's Over things have cratered for us in more ways than one. Just like my Jets cratered after the Patriot playoff win. NJDevs4978
Yeah they pushed the envelope way too far with the tiered pricing and they got embarassed. Sub-15,000 for Devils-Rangers?! That's scary bad. And it's not the fans' fault, the team wanted every last nickel it could get and it backfired.
2ELIAS6
Those empty seats in the uppers were around 90 bucks. Clearly the wrong pricing. to be honest the pricing was the reason why i decided to stay at home tonight. It was a friends birthday and originally my intentions were to go down to the game but after i went to opening night i was too into shelling out for an over priced rangers game .. its not cheap to get to the arena from rockland county..if i take the train its $21 round trip..plus the game ticket plus food and if i decide to have a beer or two.. if i drive its atleast $15 to park and probably around that much in fuel as well plus something to eat and a soda. NJDevs4978
Plus if you're a Devils fan and you see three games in one week, some people would just flat rather go to Opening Night and (a cheaper) Chico Night with friendly crowds then deal with the douchebaggery and split crowd in Ranger games. I don't blame you one bit for not going, if I wasn't a season ticket holder I wouldn't have paid those prices for the game either. Hopefully they learn form this mistake or they are just gonna try to train everyone to this is how it's gonna be and people will either pay it or they won't. Exactly, plus I think Rangers fans were thinking the same thing, they can get cheaper priced seats for their home game Monday against Minnesota. NJDevs4978
I know after tonight I was relieved I only had to go to one more of these games (and that it isn't till April) and I've never felt that way about Devil-Ranger games in the past. Honestly people might have paid the prices for 'most' times in the season, this just happened to be THE worst time in a season to try to bilk people in mid-week October with the Devils having two desirable games the same week around it. If they put this game on a weekend, on a weekday in early January or mid-March to the end of the season they'd be able to sell it out even with these ridiculous prices. But between timing and pricing it was just too much for even Devils-Rangers to overcome. Edited October 22, 2014 by NJDevs4978

This was the first regular season game I've gone to in ages against them.. I hate dealing with their fans but thankfully my section was rather dull. I hate that our last home game is against them otherwise I'd skip that game.
Zubie#8
Besides that one ugly turnover I thought Larsson had a very very strong game. He looked great in his 12 mins. Edited October 22, 2014 by Zubie#
CarpathianForest
Sal actually had one good play tonight. ONE. And that's when he played the man instead of the puck. Most of the time he looks like a hot, fumbling mess who freaks whenever the puck comes near him. Larsson has his issues but he keeps his wits about him most of the time.

The Rag fans that go to games in our arena usually aren't coming from NY, they're not the typical Garden base. They're the NJ based Rag fan that's out west in NJ or a bit further south. Basically because they live here they are especially antagonistic towards the Devils and their fans and because it's not convenient to go to the Garden (or they can't afford it because they're not NY bigshots) they save up their money and the only Rag games they go to are the one's against us. They bring a lot of pent up rage with them as well and just release it at the Rock. Edited October 22, 2014 by '7'
Zubie#8
Speaking of these 'fans' I had one middle aged drubk ranger fan for no reason shove me a few times and then grabbed me by the neck and pulled me down to grab my hat. I turned around and knocked him out. Luckily no one really noticed because the guy was drunk as hell and he looked like he just fell. But that was the first time I ever had to resort to that. Unbelievable. I didnt even say a word to that guy but when I was leving my section after the game ended he tried to pull that crap on me. Mike Brown
14,484 was the official attendance. Somebody fvcked up royally if we can't sellout a game against the Rags. It seriously sounded like a lot of Rags fans tonight. More than normal.
