CarpathianForest
Zubrus is a dead weight on that first line. I'm not sure why no one has brought that up either. We looked all year for someone to play there, sign Cammerelli, play a few awesome games, and bump Zubrus up. Unbelievable. Ruutu should play there over him. Ruutu can't play up there because every time Gio or Tootoo play like sh!t Ruutu has to be benched. Hey other hockey teams, down 3-1 to the Devils? Don't worry that score is a guarantee that you'll tie or win.

mfitz804
I am not impressed with Schneider through 6 games, I think he will be fine, but he has only looked good in 1 of the games so far.

2ELIAS6
He looked great against the Sharks with the exception of one goal. he has let in several questionable goals so far in these first six games.. i wont say that iam concerned about him being the real deal number one around here but so far iam not completely pleased with him and i will leave it there.. i think this guy can really be great but there are certain stops he has got to make and he hasnt been doing that so far for us with consistency. I think he'll be fine so I'm not worried about him. But man we can't have our goalie play this inconsistently. We could have brought Marty back for that. Grand scheme of things, we're not in bad position. At least we're not the Flyers.
NJDevs4978
Schnieder was not the problem tonight. This defense aside from Merrill is straight awful right now, almost MacLean-ish bad. Coaching was awful tonight and the offense couldn't score at even strength. Other than that everything's just peachy.

Other than that everything's just peachy. goals are goals though and last year we got shut out or held at 1 so often that heck, I'll take what i'm seeing. This team is a lot quicker and more creative offensively then they were last year. 18 goals in 6 games is very good. It's the baffling head coach that's holding them back. CarpathianForest
$10 Deboer blames the game on Larsson and benches him...any takers? I was just about to say "Don't worry guys. PDB will bench that terrible player Larsson and call up Harrold."
2ELIAS6
the one thing i think we can all safely agree on is what the hell this coach is thinking with some of the decisions he is making.. i mean you put out whats possibly our two slowest forwards at once neither of which you can honestly depend on scoring the gwg to put the thing away.. im actually just baffled as to why he would put those two on the ice together let alone at all as the only two forwards. Devils Pride 26
Zidlicky is expendable. A few years ago we needed his offense, but no one has time for his bullsh!t turnovers anymore. He's a wildcard. If it was Larsson who turned that over, we'd never see the kid again. Gelinas in for Zidlicky. Yes, he's more of the same, but at least hold EVERYONE accountable. You hit the mother fvcking nail on the mother fvcking head! This team has a good roster. Our coaching staff just doesn't know how to manage it. I love their system, and I love the fact this team rarely takes nights off. It's just that their roster management fvcking sucks!
HOLLYWOOD
Last year the Devils were #1 in the league in PK... have to look at the variables that have changed yes... Zubs has slowed down so much over these last 2 years and it's very noticeable

Devil Dan 56
Well, the good news is that Salvador is playing less. The bad is that Larsson got no PP or PK time, and played less than 13 mins. He's not that bad, is he, Pete?

Our coaching staff just doesn't know how to manage it. I love their system, and I love the fact this team rarely takes nights off. It's just that their roster management fvcking sucks! This team's roster is still vulnerable to being beaten by speed and top end skill and it's a year older. I can not argue with some bad personnel decisions made, but this is still a roster with dead weight, players who might be/are aging before our eyes and it's painfully slow. And, being that as it is, can they sustain an offensive pace? Teams that don't take nights off is a cliche' at best. Yes, the Devils work hard but they have stretches where they go brain dead and they pay for it. They make far too many mistakes that aren't always coach related and they take entirely way to many penalties. Sometimes, the other team is more skilled, faster and younger, too, and that's where the difference lies.

Devil Dan 56
Larsson on the PP? No thank you....ever. He's played the PP before and was a mainstay on it in his time in Albany last year. The kid is on a "show-me" contract and getting 12:30 in playing time? It's just a little ridiculous. I mean, it's great seeing Severson and Merrill being so trusted, but the Larsson treatment is strange. Not saying he should be on the first PP unit, but he got zero special team time. Less? He played 20 minutes. But Severson played more than him and Merrill took some of his PK time. It's a good sign.
devlman
Why are PDB teams so bad at holding multi-goal leads... On a positive note, I'm happy the Pru crowd and atmosphere are coming thru well on the MSG telecasts so far this season. In the past, it seemed like Steve was calling the game from a phone booth down the block.

Pete's a genius all right
CarpathianForest
Like I've mentioned before I wouldn't be as upset as PDB was giving more minutes to younger players, even PK minutes, and we were in the same situation. They have to develop at the NHL level some time.
