Marshall
^^ There have been similar things bouncing around recently, SD. Gist of it was that Sharp isn't all his public image is worked up to be.

In previous iterations, it was Lindros sleeping with Rod Brindamour's wife, and I think there might have been one with Scott Hartnell. Triumph
I don't see where Martin Havlat fits on a playoff team but hey if they want him for his clutchiness great. He's unfortunately through as an NHL player.
MadDog2020
The lineup tonight vs Boston is pretty much saying, "Alright Cory, need a bigger challenge?" The lines are trash sans Jagr and Gomez. Fraser and Gelinas make up the scariest tandem ever. After tonight, the word playoffs should never be uttered again. Then it will be open season in NJ....aka nothing changes. Looks like no Rask tonight: @TGfireandice: G Jeremy Smith called up by Bruins. Tuukka Rask very questionable for tonight due to illness. William D'Aquila
The Hurricanes, according to the two league sources, are willing to retain a "significant portion" of Semin's contract if a team is in acquiring him. Semin at 4.75 for Clowe?

This is from TG after the Devils beat the Coyotes. In the game Gelinas was benched for almost the entire third period. It sounds to me like he is pretty frustrated with the coaches here and is taking a backhanded shot at them here: Defenseman Eric Gelinas said he tweaked his ankle when he “fell awkward”, but that was not the reason why he sat for the final 17:27 of the third period and played only 10:30 for the night. “It was 2-0 and I went on the rush,” Gelinas said. “I can't do that and I've got to learn from that. I was trying to help out (Jaromir Jagr) and I didn't really think about it, but I've got to keep that in the back of my mind that we don't need another goal and stay back.” Edited February 27, 2015 by Neb00rs

NJDevs4978
lol Gelinas was taking accountability for the play, where was the backhanded shot exactly? Edited February 27, 2015 by NJDevs4978

Possibly, and I am not making a mountain out of a molehill here (I am not saying there is some deep rooted animosity between him and the coaches or anything). I just mean that it sounds like he is saying "I don't know what the fvck they want me to do. Am I supposed to provide offense, am I not supposed to provide offense?" He sounds like a VERY confused player to me. In my mind he is being melodramatically self-critical when he says "I can't do that and I've got to learn from that." I suppose he might just be eager-to-please and to show that he is a team player, so that he will get more opportunities to play though. It seems they want him to learn when to join the play and when not to. That's not a huge thing to ask. It's what they do.

You're reading sarcasm there is basically what you're doing, because the words read literally indicate none of this. Now could he be being sarcastic? Sure. But in general athletes speaking to reporters are painfully literal.

I am reading someone who doesn't want to be direct because that will get him into trouble, so he takes a shot at himself to demonstrate to the media that he is confused. To me he tried to make himself out to be the good-natured team player who is just trying to do the right thing but can't seem to do anything that pleases the coaches. Again, I could be wrong, and maybe he is just eager to please.

That's the last I will say on it because I think it's very straightforward.
