Colorado Rockies 1976
At least they got Kershaw out of the game...I wonder whether Jacob can handle a long delay at 100+ though? They did what they wanted to do...drove his pitch count up and got him out of the game fairly early.

Colorado Rockies 1976
Wright with two huge ABs tonight...the 12-pitch walk, and the two-run single. Gotta give credit where it's due.
MadDog2020
Good for Wright. It's nice to see him come through like that in a big spot.
NJDevs4978
And maybe better news than the 3-0 lead, Cuddyer out for defensive purposes

Colorado Rockies 1976
And probably a bit unfairly, this start for Kershaw will be another chapter in the "Kershaw doesn't get it done in the playoffs" novel... capo
I haven't seen deGrom shake tda off at all this game. And probably a bit unfairly, this start for Kershaw will be another chapter in the "Kershaw doesn't get it done in the playoffs" novel...Definitely unfair but probably. NJDevs4978
Wow 120+ pitches...that might rule out a Game 4 start but if the Mets can pull this out it's better than 50-50 they go into Game 4 up 2-1 anyway.
Colorado Rockies 1976
I haven't seen deGrom shake tda off at all this game. He actually got STRONGER as this game went on. What a performance.
NJDevs4978
Certainly one of the handful of best Met postseason pitching performances. I don't really know game-by-game how the '69 and '73 Mets pitched in the postseason, I just remember Leiter's game against Cinci and Bobby Jones' one hitter against the Giants as dominant postseason performances. Colorado Rockies 1976
Here comes Clip...can't lie, I like him, but right now he scares me a little...
NJDevs4978
Here comes Clip...can't lie, I like him, but right now he scares me a little... Oh yeah this is definitely hope and pray time. If we get through this inning up 3-0 or 3-1 I think we're good but Clippard with the top of the order might cost me a night's sleep.

Ojeda Game 2 @ Houston in 1986 (down 1) Ojeda Game 3 @ Boston in 1986. (down 2) Cone Game 6 @ LA in 1988. (down 1 elimination game) A few great Mets post season pitching outings with huge pressure. capo
He actually got STRONGER as this game went on. What a performance. He settled a little but he was still amped. Not that this one is over but tomorrow will be the test with Thor. He needs to be relaxed. Greinke is going to be even tougher for us though... NJDevs4978
Terry needs to have Familia warming like now...he hasn't pitched in a week, it's okay to give him a four or five-out save.
Colorado Rockies 1976
Reed has clearly been better than Clip as of late...but TC seems to be locked into "this guy has to pitch this inning"...

NJDevs4978
And to Terry's credit he didn't mess around and does have Familia warming, now's the time to pull the plug on Clip.
