'7'
Thor came out and said pitch 1 was planned. Royals are upset of course...though they said before the series that Murph was "too comfortable" at the plate they had 2 leads in the game. Mets flat out outslugged them. Mets needed that up and fastball. That was their Claude cheapshot. A message they can be the aggressor and won't let KC walk all over them. And good to see Familia get some work in, he needed the psychological boost.
NJDevs4978
That's the Royals schtick, they look for any excuse to fight. I'm actually shocked Ventura didn't do anything, he's usually one of their biggest hotheads. I'd love to see these guys' reaction to Gibson and Drysdale, talk about guys that would routinely pitch high and tight Pedro Martinez @45PedroMartinez 6h6 hours ago It's refreshing to see a current pitcher that answered like an old timer! Thoooorrrrrrrrrrr!!!! And btw THIS is jaw-dropping Matt Ehalt @MattEhalt 7h7 hours ago Noah said if Royals weren't happy with pitch to Escobar they could meet him at feet 60 feet 6 inches. Colorado Rockies 1976
Went to my friend's cousin's restaurant in Old Bridge where they had an awesome buffet and a room for Mets fans. Was a real blast. The collective emotions in the room were so up-and-down early on...but once the Mets took the lead and kept adding on, it just got better and better. Really happy for Wright...as much as he pisses me off, I don't root against him...it was funny, the restaurant owner was wearing an authentic Wright jersey, and when he came into the room, there were a lot of groans. Wright needed this game for so many reasons...as Has has shown, even Wright's most ardent supporters were getting tired of constantly defending his failures. This game has bought him a little currency. If he comes through again tonight once or twice, that will really get a lot of fans back in his corner. Just glad that we've got a series again...would've really been such a bummer to go down 3-0. It's nice to still feel like "They can do this!" I can't remember how many times I said "fvck you" to Moustakas...man was that a$$hole annoying...shut the fvck up.
Devils Pride 26
Keep it up. Beam #2 tonight. It brought the swagger back
capo
I was reading TG's tweets about the pitch and how the Royals managed to score 3 runs right after that pitch and how it didn't really do anything but that's not how baseball works. In baseball you're constantly setting up for next time or the next pitch. He did K Escobar and was electric and let's not forget that Zobrist had six strikes in that first at bat. The Royals scored those runs on mostly bloop hits. In a lot of ways Thor reminds me of Nolan Ryan. I love his you want some come and get it attitude. That's totally going to rub off on Matz for tonight.
capo
Ned Yost says they got tricks up their sleeves. I hope they do start giving us free bases. We'll take what we can get. This exactly what the doctor ordered for the NYM. I have a firmly developed man crush on Thor.

capo
Matz is getting to much plate with his fastball. I like to see that hard curve more with 2 strikes.
NJDevs4978
So far it looks like the first two games approach offensively, trying to kill every ball. Get some runners first THEN try to cash in big, or just beat them at their game and stay patient Edited November 1, 2015 by NJDevs4978
capo
The Mets are making Young look like Cy again. They have to change the approach and get more aggressive. He's right there in the strike. Stop guessing and go up there ripping. He's not walking you.
capo
Tda is looking like 42 year old Marty Brodeur back there. I don't think I've ever seen this many balls get by a catcher or dropped.

NJDevs4978
Oy vey I can't blame Wilmer for being twitchy, he didn't know Rios was going to hesitate but my god that was too close for comfort. Still 2-0 finally.
NJDevs4978
Grip and rip it baby! 2 first pitch hits in a row. Can't wait on Young He is a touch wild today though...and at least it's a real strike zone tonight. Yesterday David would have been struck out on that 2-2 pitch. NJDevs4978
Boy, Murph might giving back some of those millions. Maybe Cespedes is too although someone probably still will go psycho nuts considering how great a regular season he had.
'7'
For the love of god Cespedes stop kicking the damn ball after you bungle a play Again with this two strike bs When it's 1-2...cant grove them hangers and fastballs
NJDevs4978
Jesus Yost's desperate to try to get the lead now and with his famous luck it might work. And Matz having his standard one bad inning in the postseason.
'7'
Less forgiving of Cespedes now that he's started fishing for ball 3 and 4 at eye level when up in the count and can take an easy walk Matz is done
NJDevs4978
79 pitches for Matz after 5, I wonder if they just go ahead and PH for him this inning. I'd rather try to get him through another but with the heart of the Royals' order a third time and his curve not working? Thank goodness Yost did Yost things by hurrying to use Morales. I get you're trying to get the lead for your pen but runner on first two outs is not the time to do it.

NJDevs4978
I hope Terry didn't press his luck once too often, I was a little shaky about sending Matz out again third time through the order with the Royals starting to get to him. And now it's 3-2, oy vey
'7'
Moron Terry again waited too long. Everyone could see Matz was fried at the end of the last inning. Now KC will take the lead
