NJDevs4978
I must be the only one that thinks Harvey will pitch well, but that's only cause he's on his normal rest and because it won't matter anyway since Volquez will shut down the Mets, I'd put money down on seven innings and one or fewer runs for Volquez with Cespedes taking another sombrero. It'll probably be like 2-1 after 7 and Reed'll be the one to give up some sh!t like a three-run HR to Moustakas to annoy me even more and that'll be it Edited November 1, 2015 by NJDevs4978
capo
At some point these pitchers are going to have to throw complete games. That should be one of the things they work towards. Their stamina just isn't there. Until one them hands the ball directly to Familia on a somewhat frequent basis they aren't going to be considered dangerous because all you gave to do is wait them out and beat up the pen. thecoffeecake
If there's any way to dig out a hole like this, it's Harvey degrom syndergaard. If cueto doesn't have another superhuman performance, there's a huge chance this thing goes 7.
'7'
Harvey is the guy that I by far have the least faith in, and he has to kick off the miracle comeback.
NJDevs4978
Conversely Volquez is the guy I have the least confidence in them hitting...then again I doubt they'll hit anyone right now. Peter Gammons @pgammo 3m3 minutes ago The Mets players, coaches, front office believe this will be Harvey's night. Well the world's watching Matt
'7'
I look forward to the day that we no longer have to hear the condescending Joe Buck do any sort of national broadcasts. How did he land this gig anyway? Did his dad have pull? Who listens to this guy and says "yes, he's clearly a top 5 play by play guy in America." NJDevs4978
Too bad we can't have any runners on for Grandy
'7'
And David Wright cant pick an easy grounder...unbelievable the fielding miscues Bad News Bears infield
NJDevs4978
Hopefully Harvey doesn't fall apart in the middle innings the way every other starter (sans Thor) has so far.

'7'
D'arnaud has been a train wreck. Cant throw anybody out, double play machine.

NJDevs4978
33 pitches through 3, if it's possible to go 9, go 9. I have about a late July level of confidence in Familia right now (re: next to none)
'7'
Grandy leads off with a HR...offense checks out for the night. I dont know who they go to for a 9th inning save. I may flat out pass him over considering his workload of late, fried arm, and the fact that he doesnt miss Royals bats Here's my closer for today....Thor. Bring in Thor

Bring in Thor Their entire offense has been solo HR's lately, everyone swinging for the fences, nobody other than Duda recognizing the value of actually getting on base. They will go to Familia, law of averages suggest he can't possibly blow three games in the series. If he does well he's either mentally or physically shot. Colon would be my second choice (unless this is a throw day availability for Thor), he has no fear at least but who knows if his arm's about to fall off too from the pen use. '7'
I dont think Familia is as mentally fragile as Benitez, I legit just think this Royals team is so scrappy and so good at making contact, laying off balls a centimeter outside...they decimate ALL pens, not just ours. He's not up their sh!tting his pants like Blownitez (who I swear I saw visibly shaking before facing Brian Jordan). And the Murph error didnt help either. But Familia didnt stem the bleeding either. I think his pitches just dont have the same movement and bite as they did in the Dodger series...just the eyeball test, his arm is finally petering out, that's why I suggested Thor. '7'
Cespedes is an unmitigated disaster. Does he have any concept of a strike zone at all. Volquez throws his 6th straight pitch out of the zone low and inside HURR DURR SWING!! double play
NJDevs4978
Cespedes getting booed apparently after yet another GIDP. Well that figures, this is Reyes second half 2007 type bad. Edited November 2, 2015 by NJDevs4978
'7'
He is such a detriment now I would pull him mid game for Lagares. As Gary Cohen would say...net negative. Cespedes is killing us with his stupidity Not that it would ever happen
'7'
And the squeeze is on. Harvey may have had Gordon k'd twice. Naturally no calls. No calls at all for us ever
