Colorado Rockies 1976
Captain Clutch. Same old same old.
capo
Not going to kill TC for Familia, though I thought Reed had another inning in him. He didn't throw many pitches. Dreadful inning for Noah...horrible 2-strike pitches in that first inning. Pitched very much like a rookie. Just a rigorous outing that didn't need to happen. You can throw whoever you want out there and if they give up a couple hits get him up. In a couple of weeks you're going have to throw him out there til his arm falls off... gotta save that puppy for then...I'm a little concerned about good pitcher's silencing our sticks. Our dream could be over real quick with the Dodgers top 2. Our guys are going to have to match them pitch for pitch. Maybe we can skip deGrom and rest him up. Just saw they are skipping deGrom. NJDevs4978
Guess they won't clinch at home after all unless they win four in a row and the Nats lose four in a row, oh well. Just don't let this get interesting. And we'll see how bad the boos for Harvey will be tomorrow - and there will be boos, between the Boras-led mess and the Yankee fans being in the park to begin with. NJDevs4978
I'm still badly scarred from 2007. Any little hiccup has me chicken littling....heh. Well with the two of us we get it from both ends too lol, the Mets and the Jets with their various December/January fades.
Colorado Rockies 1976
First chinks in the fun and exciting story that has been Cespedes...he blew off the media after last night's loss. Might have a little frontrunner in him. Not going to make a massive deal out of one game though. And he was going to slow down eventually. Harvey better not suck today. NJDevs4978
Nationals win again, so much for the Marlins being a help Harvey better show up tonight or he'll deserve every boo he gets and then some. And I don't mean five innings, two ER either.
Colorado Rockies 1976
Win 3 out of the next 4, and that will squelch any beginnings of "see the Nats aren't dead" talk. That being said, I still don't consider the Nats a threat in the slightest...but the Mets suddenly losing their home mojo is a concern. They've dropped 10 out of 15 at home. And they've obviously been tearing it up on the road lately, but their final two road series will be played in "anything can happen" bandboxes. Even if they don't have to worry about losing the division, I don't want to see them limp into the playoffs. At least stabilize and get in with 91-93 wins. Wright batting second where he belongs...though he'll fail to do anything here I'm sure. Guy is RBI kryptonite. Finally David...
Colorado Rockies 1976
CC getting the pitch count up early. I really hate watching games on ESPN. fvcking Cuddyer...
NJDevs4978
Wasted a chance to really blow it open early
Colorado Rockies 1976
Wasted a chance to really blow it open early Yeah, lately it seems like a lot of the big hits and clutch hits are being saved for the road. CC may not be what he was, but he's one of those vets who can bounce back from a rough couple of innings to suddenly turn in a 6 IP, 2 ER kind of game if you let him off the hook. And I think the Mets are going to need some runs tonight...I don't trust Harvey at the moment. Think Girardi might be trying to fire up his team a little bit, though that was an awful call by Hirschbeck...I don't blame Girardi for chirping. Colorado Rockies 1976
Harvey laboring a little...can't see him going more than five at this rate. Hope he can get a quick inning.
NJDevs4978
And there's gonna be a lot of moonwalking on re-signing Cespedes the longer his 0-for keeps up. Second time around the NL they're exploiting him more.
NJDevs4978
This looks like a lot of early-season games now, the offense going to sleep against a guy that's been pitching batting practice most of this season and looked awful in the first inning. Colorado Rockies 1976
My feelings on Cespedes never really wavered...the Mets are basically run like a small-market team, so I'm not sure if they can afford to risk the $150 million or so it will cost to keep him. Mistakes like that for a team that can't afford too many high-priced mistakes can be crippling. This 40-game sample was awesome, but it's also nowhere the kind of player that Cespedes has been for his career. I'm not saying that Sandy should absolutely let him walk, but I'm leaning that way. If he's getting paid a fortune to be a sub-.800 OB+SLG player, his star is going to fall here very quickly. CC now chewing through the Met lineup. Had a feeling that might happen after letting him off the hook in the first.
NJDevs4978
Of course Harvey's only going five lol...well he'd better leave with a lead at least. Good luck trying to get twelve outs with this pen.
Colorado Rockies 1976
Yeah, it's nice that Harvey at least left with the lead intact, but it's almost like getting a field-goal kicker a 55-yard attempt after having had a first down at midfield. You're really asking a lot of someone else to finish the job. Wouldn't hurt if this team started getting some hits off CC Cy Young.
Colorado Rockies 1976
At least the Mets are making CC work. He probably won't go more than six.
NJDevs4978
And now apparently Harvey's upset from being pulled from a game because he didn't want to pitch too many innings. Does this guy have bipolar or something, seriously?
thecoffeecake
No moron...has nothing to do with the Mets, has to do with you coming in here just to be an annoying dick. Sad that you have nothing better to do. If you can actually read, you'd see in my post from this very morning that I'm actually not worried at all, that there was no way in hell the Mets were going to run the table through the end of the season, and that the Nats haven't shown themselves to be capable of putting together the all-time run it would take to steal the division. But I'm not surprised by your posts, as you've always been a bit of an abrasive troublemaker in the Devils forums too. It's what keyboard "tough"-guys like you enjoy doing. Not sure why. But that's your cross to bear, not mine. It's sports man. Get used to annoying dicks if you're gonna be involved in them. For God's sake, you're a Mets fan. They make up an extreme majority of that fan base. How have you been a sports fan for so long and get so bothered by people who hate the teams you like? ESPN is the worst baseball broadcast that exists. That K-zone is atrocious.
Colorado Rockies 1976
Harvey is a phony. Like others have said, he's the guy who doesn't really want to fight but acts like he needs to be held back. You can't have it both ways Matt. You and your dipsh!t agent have made this more complicated than it ever needed to be.
Colorado Rockies 1976
It's a Mets board for Mets fans coffee. There's no reason for idiots to come in here just to clog it up with stupid comments. Like I said, I get it...you like to stir sh!t up. So be it.
NJDevs4978
lol can the Mets at least try to field? It's hard enough for these pitchers to get outs without Wright and Murphy helping them out
NJDevs4978
And...JUST...LIKE...THAT the lead's gone. Probably gonna be six up after tonight, no deGrom this week, Harvey only pitching half-starts and a lousy pen. Yeah I'm pushing this to DEFCON 3 if we lose tonight. Colorado Rockies 1976
David Wright is a loser. Stakes get bigger, he gets smaller. And this is why you're a joke Matt...you're really doing us all a favor with this half-start crap. We should all be so blessed just to have you for five innings, right?
