MadDog2020
Yep- -and Pep's son is in the deal: @DarrenDreger: Again principles of Jets-Sabres deal: Myers Stafford Armia and Lemieux plus a first for Kane and Bogosian. Could be other elements.
devilsrule33
Well, not losing any value on Kane. That's a pretty impressive return.
Derlique
Myers, Stafford, Armia, Lemieux and a late first for Kane, Bogosian and Burmistrov. Good deal for both sides but I think Buff wins that one. Tim Murray is a genius
MadDog2020
@DarrenDreger: 1st round pick Jets acquire will be lowest of 3 of the Sabres picks. Very complicated trade. Sounds like an unsigned player from Peg as well
MadDog2020
@DarrenDreger: Specifics still being sorted, plus all pending trade call.
DevsMan84
Wow! Talk about a big trade. Interesting that Burmistrov was thrown in there. Any chance he is coming back from Russia now?
MadDog2020
@DarrenDreger: Unsigned goalie, Jason Kasdorf also goes to Sabres in trade. Done deal.

Devs3cups
What a big trade! I think BUF wins the trade, but WPG gets nice pieces that improve their team and future. Pretty fair trade overall...
devlman
Big win for Buffalo. Tyler Myers is coming into his own, and McDavid should contribute right away next season...nice little team theyre building Edit: lol, i see they included Myers in the deal. They gave up way too much there. Edited February 11, 2015 by devlman
Triumph
Myers for Bogosian is basically a wash, so the deal is Kane for Armia/Lemieux/Stafford/low 1st. That's not a great return - if I were Winnipeg I'd want something a little more definite for him. Armia doesn't look like anything special and Brendan Lemieux is a few years off. devilsrule33
The best part of the trade are the tweets: Down Goes Brown@DownGoesBrown “Honey, we got traded!” “To somewhere nicer?” “Uh…” - A conversation a whole lot of NHL players are about to have. Ian Mendes @ian_mendes · 19m19 minutes ago Taxi drivers in Buffalo will be a little nervous when they read the headline "NHL star Kane headed to the Sabres." sundstrom
so how does my jagr/matteau/gelinas/2nd look in comparison?

I think it's actually a decent return considering Kane's production has been in decline the last few years, is injury prone and a head case. Plus Myers imo has done more at the NHL level than Bogosian and will probably flourish outside of Buffalo.
Muevelos
Winnipeg slightly wins this trade, not by much though, and Stafford is just a rental.

Myers is really not that good - Winnipeg is taking a big gamble here on him, because he could be a total disaster.
Neb00rs
Bwahahahaah that's what you get for being a little prick Kane. Just wait until we find out they better offer on the table but chose to ship Kane and his contract to Buffalo. CarpathianForest
WPG wins this deal hands down. The get rid of a total headache who so far only has "potential."
sokar
Not only did they get Kane they are going to be drafting either McDavid or Eicfhel. I think Buffalo won this one

Devilsfan118
Wow, huge trade. Buffalo rebuilding the right way, they're going to absolutely tank now to ensure 1st / 2nd overall, and have Kane next year?Is it sad to same I'm a little jealous of the Sabres right now? Daniel
so how does my jagr/matteau/gelinas/2nd look in comparison? Armia has better AHL numbers than Matteau. The draft pick from Winnipeg is better, and who knows if Gelinas would have played for Gelinas. Brandon Lemieux looks like a legit NHLer. The deal Winnipeg got is a lot better. Winnipeg could also trade the first round pick they received for Jagr.

Yes, because they've been pretty bad since about 2008. And they are still going to be bad next year.
