'7'
I remember we did actually take the Garden over in 2006 for game 4 when we swept them. Rags fans couldn't dump their tickets fast enough for that one. yea that was nice. But I want a game where we can pack like, 6-7k into MSG. But that 2006 game 4 was a nice showing If the Rags don't win it all this year it will be a bitter disappointment to end all bitter disappointments. Very similar to their 1991-1992 season Edited April 8, 2015 by '7'
'7'
I'm still not convinced they're even making the finals again this year. Too many things have gone right, gone perfectly for them. The worm is gonna turn It is REALLY HARD to make consecutive finals. A lot has to go right. And once you get there, to actually win it. Ranger still have a long long road ahead Edited April 8, 2015 by '7'

Very similar to their 1991-1992 season 2006 Game 4 is as good as it's going to get. 1st round, Rangers' best players hurt, coming out of the lockout, facing a sweep. Devils fans won't fill up that place in the playoffs like that again - it's a 1 in 1000 sort of scenario.
slasher72
gonna be an Ale. right now i have a coastal wheat fermenting. I'll toast the Rangers not being in the finals with it. Damn, that sounds delicious. Good for you bro. And yes, if the Rangers lose in the Conference Finals, raise a glass to Queen Henrik and give a masterful toast. thefiestygoat
What I don't want to happen but expect to happen: Oates is hired as HC and Fraser is still in the organization next year...and they'll find some way to give him NHL minutes. Also, I'm concerned about Merrill. Seems to have taken a step back. Hopefully this is just a bump in the road.
Zubie#8
I'm just hoping they don't face the Wings in the first round. Wings are probably the worst team in playoffs right now. Let it be the Isles, that'll be one rough series.

Neb00rs
It is REALLY HARD to make consecutive finals. A lot has to go right. In the hopes of coping with reality, people like to bank on these kinds of ideas; that events in the past influence chances of events in the future. They don't. The percentages of chance in this case, happen in retrospect. i.e. Just because it doesn't happen often, doesn't decrease the Rangers odds of making it to the Finals at all. The only factors that play in here are existential ones: quality of competition, seed, matchup dynamics, etc... The only real argument you could make is that they will be too exhausted from two straight years of deep playoff runs, and I am only mentioning that because I hear it a lot. I have yet to find any truth in it, though I am open to examples from people with a deeper knowledge of hockey history than I. Zubie#8
Isles may not even be in the playoffsHope so, because no matter how bad the isles are they always bring their best game against those aholes.
MadDog2020
Isles may not even be in the playoffsIf you haven't seen the goal Halak gave up with the Isles 2 seconds away from clinching a playoff spot, I'd invite you to check the Around the League thread. It's mind-numbing...
Devil Dan 56
With Mike Brown and slasher arguing, it's pretty obvious the direction that this forum has been taking the past few years. A laughably optimistic doofus argues with a horrifyingly negative moron.. can't wait to see the result. The result is we all lose? I guess they both have points... while MB is right that there ARE a couple of nice pieces for the future, Slasher is right that the team needs to move on to new blood, new ideas, and a new philosophy. mfitz804
We've actually done a pretty solid job at invading their building. Especially last year when we started 3-0 against them, the building erupted when Gelinas scored the OT winner in that one game. He's young. I think we should trade him. He can bring back a nice return. Of our young D, he'd be the one I ship out. I can't believe its no longer Gelinas, but now I think he's more valuable to us. It's mind-numbing... I saw it. It was absolutely absurd. If the Isles miss the playoffs because of that it will be a historic gut punch. A lot still has to go wrong(about 4 things actually, Isles lose 2 in regulation, Sens win two in regulation...so the Isles STILL have margin for error), but that was not a good omen. Not at all. Also I think if the Pens win one and lose one and the Isles win none and the Sens win two...the Isles still make it. Pens would lose the tiebreaker to the Isles but I'm not 100% sure. Neb00rs
I wasn't able to even see where the puck went on that Halak goal; it's clearly a bad goal, but I am unable to assess just how bad. Where did it go in?

titans04
Another embarrassing display on the ice tonight, dominated in every way which wasn't a surprise, sadly. Cory kept this one semi respectable as he usually does. Way to show toughness with the sticks and guys that play soft game in and game out trying to all of the sudden play with an edge. Thankfully it's over, appropriately they got booed off their home ice after a season of disappointment. A small handful of players to be excited about but overall way too much dead weight on the roster, behind the bench and in the front office. Hoping to see a larger roster turnover than Lou would even consider. Hoping his free pass is inching towards its expiration date with each passing season. Hopefully he's at least embarrassed by the overwhelming home ice advantage the rags had in his own building.
Triumph
Speaking about the game in general, I dld like Boucher's game a lot, he had jump and drew a penalty and made some other good things happen. Matteau also skated well but made some terrible passes - we didn't see much of him in the 3rd. And there was Zubrus with his 15 minutes again doing absolutely nothing. The Devils have to remove Zubrus next year, it just must be done. It's not going to make the team a lot better but you're 29th in scoring for a reason, take a look why and try to re-evaluate. '7'
Halak may have been screened a bit by Hamonic, maybe he picked the puck up late. Still you have to get that shot
