CarpathianForest
Would really like to see OTT, WSH in the east VAN, STL, NSH, WPG, even Minny, just to see a team win the cup for the first time.
HellOnICE
I just see the Rangers steamrolling the first two rounds. Really hoping the Blues can take it and get Marty another ring.

I rooted for Brodeur to do well in St Louis, but Brodeur receiving another ring as a glorified intern in St Louis is probably last on my reasons for cheering them on. MadDog2020
Ottawa assistant coach Mark Reeds passed away at the age of 55: http://m.ottawasun.com/2015/04/14/senators-asst-coach-mark-reeds-dies-of-cancer-at-age-55 RIP. Cancer sucks.
roomtemp
Yes, but Pekka Rinne. Plus, as 2000 showed, losing before the playoffs doesnt mean anything. Also Chicago is going in losing 4 in a row so its not like they're doing great momentum wise. Kane coming back helps but still
RunninWithTheDevil
Really hoping the Rangers lose in round one. It would completely bust my bracket but I just have such a hard time look at an ECF between Rags and Tampa. Hopefully Ottawa and Isles and get things rolling. These are gonna be great playoffs regardless.

'7'
Penguins will win a game but they're not beat the Rags in that series. Rangers can be beat but Pittsburgh is too battered and disinterested to do it. Crosby and Malkin will not rise to the occasion.

Crosby and Malkin are capable of taking a series over on their own, but they'll go down like the dogs they are. No one will ever mistake either of them for Mark Messier. devlman
Pens are taking the series, watch. Malkin is fully fit and healthy now. MAF is due to have a decent post season one of these years. Rags are soft.
Devil Dan 56
I don't see Pittsburgh taking out the Rangers. I'll be hoping for it of course, but every damn thing has gone the Rangers way so far.

Yeah the hope for them to take it is I've seen weirder sh!t happen in the playoffs. When "Weird sh!t" is what you hang your hope on its not a good sign. thecoffeecake
The penguins aren't the favorite, but it's far from impossible for them to take the series. They're still the penguins. They still have Crosby and Malkin, they still have a decent group behind them. If they've gotten their heads on straight, which the layoff could do, they'll be in the series until the end if they don't win it. Here's what I'm looking at. Number one is the Rangers lose. Number two is no other New York team wins. That group includes the Islanders (this never means Buffalo in applicable settings, to be clear). Number three is that no Canadian teams win. fvck those guys. Number four is that no one wins the cup for the first time. I bank on some teams never winning the cup so we can get over that mean of 3 championships a lifetime fans get if we live to 90. So I'm left with Chicago, Tampa, Anaheim, Detroit, and Pittsburgh. I won't be actively cheering for anyone, I just don't get it, but I definitely like to see groups not win. I'm also assuming we all want Detroit coming out of the conference so we get that 2nd rounder.
jim777
I'm rooting for South Jersey's Johnny Gaudreau and the Flames. My son learned to play ice hockey at Hollydell from Johnny's dad Guy (a great guy, buy the way) http://www.calgarysun.com/2015/02/07/daddy-hockey-reveling-in-sons-success
CarpathianForest
The key to a Penguins victory is Patric Hornqvist and how much he can disturb Hank.

jim777
The key to a Penguins victory is Patric Hornqvist and how much he can disturb Hank. Honestly, I think the key to a Pens victory is the Rags plane crashing. Outside of that I don't think the Pens have a realistic chance against the them. Zubie#8
This Ottawa Montréal game is bonkers. Crazy physical and Senators are dominating the play and Markov put the puck in his own net!
