2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs thread

It's funny. Rangers were involved in the most un-interesting lackluster series in the first round against the Pengiuns. Now they and the Capitals are the only series worth watching in the second round. Sweeps in the other 3 are totally possible, while this one will definitely go 6-7 games.

I want a Tampa sweep, they are the team that could beat the Rangers (if the Caps don't). Montreal, with its two or three elite players but serious lack of depth has no chance, similar to last year.

I'm confused on icing... if a defending player pulls up as the puck trickles across the icing line, shouldn't it be waved off?

Seen it a few times this post season, most noticeably in the Rags game. I thought part of the rule was if you pull up, the linesman should wave it off...

anyway...

CAPS WIN!!!

Also, Yandle's looked pretty awful at times. Hayes and Kreider have looked like their best players in some of the games and yet they only have 2 points each. Ditto, Jesper Fast.

And they're getting killed on the faceoffs, holy cow. It could easily be 3-0 in the series if Lundqvist wasn't being Lundqvist.

They just are being Torted by Trotz. It's ironic. Trotz has the Caps playing the same way Tortorella had our team in 2012. Taking away the home run pass. Doing a good job in the neutral zone and standing up at the blueline. This strategy makes it difficult on the Rangers' speed and transition which AV has built them on. They are forcing passes and turning pucks over. Also, the Caps block a ton of shots. Another similarity to Tort by protecting Holtby. The D surrounds him and gets in shooting lanes. Orpik and Niskanen have been big time additions. So much for everyone laughing at the Caps. Those were great moves. Their blueline is much tougher.

Lundqvist has played well in the series but to be brutally honest, he's had two hiccups on the Caps' winning goals. Game 1 which has been pointed out where they had a meltdown after the Backstrom hit on Boyle. He should've had that. And last night on the Beagle GW, he didn't recover in time and cover the post. It never should've come to that. Yandle had his stick half in the net making a perfect deflection for Beagle. He really has struggled in this series.

Aside from that, the Rangers' lack of production from key players has been evident. Once again, Nash isn't finishing. Not so much that he played soft. He was in on Boyle's PPG in Game 2 and also in front on one of their best chances late and had 7 shots (15 attempts). But if he can't score and other players aren't performing, then it's useless. 7's dead on about Zuccarello. He adds so much. But it's still not an excuse for the lack of offense. They aren't getting to second chances. They are there but the Caps do a good job fronting.

I knew this would be a tough series. If they don't win tomorrow, it's over. I can't see them winning three straight against this team. As a matter of fact, I think they have to win Games 4 and 5.
