'7'
It's not just 3-1 series leads, Caps have choked up plenty of 2-0 leads as well. And I have no doubt they will be blown out of the water by the Rags tomorrow. They are a dead team walking and probably shouldnt even show up. Just psychologically beaten already
dmann422
I have. I am just using the lame excuse that Derek21 and other Rangers fans go to as their go to excuse when they are not getting desired results. it is funny how rags fans completely quit after game 4 and now they act like they knew all along the series was theirs. Wednesday night will be a tossup- I will only be surprised if one team completely rolls in this game.

DJ Eco
Ryan Callahan of the Bolts out indefinitely after getting his appendix out. Great, so now the Bolts are beatable again. I think they'll make the next round, but yeah, the Rangers' biggest Achilles tendon this year is out of the playoffs, fantastic. Jimmy Leeds
The Rags will be in the Finals again now. We'll have to rely on Chicago or Anaheim. No doubt. The Bolts aren't physical enough to beat the Rags IMO. It will be up to one of these two teams.

Not at all really. That series would be skill/speed vs. skill/speed, and Tampa Bay has lots of it.

I had Tampa over the Rags in the ECF in my bracket, but Callahan is a pretty important player for them. Plus it would've added an emotional element to the series that would be lacking now with Callahan facing his old team. As it is MSL would be the media focus, and it'll be played up as 'MSL looking to get revenge on the team that traded him' (even though he asked for it- something the media will conveniently ignore). Ditto on the goaltending, but I don't know about the D, not this year at least. Dan Boyle's been awful, Yandle too. I'm almost positive Yandle and Girardi are carrying significant injuries, McDonaugh too probably after last game. This is in stark contrast to last year where I got the feeling they coasted through three rounds without picking up any of the kinds of injuries their opponents were dealing with. I mean, Caps had 45 shots on Lundqvist last game. Their D's not doing too great at their job, but Lundqvist sure as hell is. We'll see how sustainable that is, he's been much busier than he was last postseason.
Derek21
I have. I am just using the lame excuse that Derek21 and other Rangers fans go to as their go to excuse when they are not getting desired results. Nice button push. If you've paid attention to the series, they've all been nail biters. The last one due to our team going into prevent D mode. The Caps out-attempted the Ranger 32-0 following Boyle's goal. That's insane. If they try that again, they won't be so fortunate. Great, so now the Bolts are beatable again. I think they'll make the next round, but yeah, the Rangers' biggest Achilles tendon this year is out of the playoffs, fantastic. Jon Cooper refuses to play Jonathan Drouin. He would be a good replacement given his skill. But Cooper is conservative and is considering going with 11 forwards and 7 D. Insane. If the Bolts don't get it done tonight, they're done. Stralman is a zillion times better than Boyle who gets credit for two big goals in the series. Yandle is playing hurt. There has to be something wrong. Granted. He's not lock down but hasn't practiced much. The team defense is impacted because it puts more pressure on McDonagh, Girardi and Staal. Klein also has struggled since returning. In order for them to win, they have to stay in attack mode and manage the puck better.

I'll still go down as saying last year's team was incredibly lucky on how their road to the Finals played out, from start to finish. I'm not afraid to say the Rangers are probably the best team in the league this year and a trip to the finals would be warranted, but last year, they were just flat out lucky. This year: Zuccarello's out indefinitely, Yandle's almost definitely seriously injured, Girardi looks injured, McDonaugh's shoulder's probably injured again after last game, Klein was injured for the start of the playoffs and still (barely) recuperating, etc., etc... Last year, the stars seemed to align for their playoff run, none of this was even an issue. This is the only x-factor that might prevent them from making the Finals again, otherwise, like most people a few weeks ago, I previously thought they were a lock for the Finals. Devils Pride 26
At the point of accepting a Caps loss tomorrow. Hopefully the saving grace is the Caps beating the hell out of them.
MDPucks
Interesting to see how Tampa is compensating for no Callahan so far. The Rangers deserve to lose forcing everybody to wait for Game 7 because of a Bette Midler concert.

MDPucks
This must be a rough playoffs for Pierre. No Mike Richards; no more Sydney Crosby; no more Zach; no more Euro Red Wings. All he's left with is Chris Krieder, Jonathan Toews, and his thumb. Edited May 13, 2015 by MDPucks
