DJ Eco
So called golden boys O'Neill and Weber failing yet again. What a disgrace this franchise is becoming. Lou being marginalized, Marty cast aside like an old dish towel, it is disgusting. People can bring up Yzerman moving to Tampa, but his development off the ice was Detroit centric. Blame Lou for not hiring Marty, that would've been his call, if you really want to get into the specifics of what our chain of command is. O'Neil and Weber do not control on-ice operations at all (and you know that damn well too). "cast aside like an old dish towel" lol. What a crock of sh!t to frame it to fit your stupid anti-new ownership/management paranoia. Not surprised though.

CommonDreads
Reading a recent interview with Shero, at least for the time being, it doesn't sound like he's looking to trade Gelinas, which is a shame. I think moving Gelinas would be the right move for this team considering the status of our depleted forward core, so i've been looking around for a suitable trade partner for the Devils where a Gelinas trade would benefit both teams. I think a trade with St. Louis could make a lot of sense for both teams, in that they need to sign at least 5 players for next season, inclusing Tarasenko, with at most $13M in cap space, so they could use a cheap defenseman like Gelinas that could be brought on for at most $1M. On top of that, the Blues seem to have a lot of depth in young forwards which the Devils could dip into, guys that i've noticed just looking through their pool: Robby Rabbri - Would, St. Louis wouldn't. 1st Round Pick from last year so we'd have to add significantly. Ivan Barbashev - Would, but again I doubt St. Louis would bite on that. Barbashev could prove to be a massive steal in that Draft. Dmitrij Jaskin - Would, might have to add slightly to get the Blues but I don't think it's impossible. RW as well. Ty Rattie - Hasn't lived up to Junior hype but i'd take him, Right Winger and I think we could entice the Blues on an even swap for him. Magnus Paajarvi - I think the Blues would definitely do this swap, but I'd like a bit more back from the Blues along with Paajarvi. Magnus spent most of the season in the A in 2015. I would hope for someone a little more established for Gelinas. Say what you will about his defense, his floor seems to be Marc Andre Bergeron and he still has plenty of time to learn to play D. These guys are purely prospects except for Paajarvi, who seems like it's the Blues version of Tedenby. Put him in a package for an established top 6 guy. I'm also a lot higher on Gelinas than Merrill. Gelinas can be a special player. I'd want to hold onto him at least until we know more about what we have. I'm with you, we have a Merrill already, he is Swedish and a much better player. Gelinas was a boom or bust selection, who still hasn't realized what his potential is or isn't. HellOnICE
From above, with Shero - I don't think he even knows where to park his car yet. Give him time. When you have an outsider coming in like that, he needs to get caught up to speed, talk to everyone in the organEYEzation, and go forward. I mean look at SHanny. He took over a year ago in Toronto. Took them quite a while to reorganize and build a structure. I imagine Ray will do the same. But it takes time.

I was reading what he had to say about a lot of stuff and am wondering if he does need to take time or he just using being "new" as an easy way not to answer questions. He seemed quick to say Elias is going to be a big part of the team next year but then he doesn't know anything about the UFAs, Jacques, Clowe, etc. Either way he's not giving information out. I wish he would just give a little insight into how he wants to construct a team. I could see his first free agent signing would be like an Eric Brewer or Barret Jackman which would be disappointing. William D'Aquila
meaning its the wrong use Are you a mongo? I'll explain further. Yzerman was under Holland's tutelage, so his management and draft style is Detroit-centric. He then brought the Red Wing's ethos to the Lightning even though he was longer employed by him. This is similar to what Jacques Lemaire did when he came to the Devils. His coaching and tactics were Montreal-centric, even though he coached the Devils. SterioDesign
Just read rumours saying that we're interested in St-Louis, have a 2 years offer ready for him and that the Rangers only have a one year offer with some kind of bonuses.
Onddeck
Just read rumours saying that we're interested in St-Louis, have a 2 years offer ready for him and that the Rangers only have a one year offer with some kind of bonuses. god. i understand the "o it doesn't matter because we have the cap room and wont be competitive for a couple years anyway" argument but i just don't see it as a good signing. a veteran presence maybe but this is adding another player who's having trouble scoring. you put him on this team and it'll be even tougher to find the net. btw, what rumors are you referring to
