If in 30 years we find out PK Subban has been a sociopathic serial rapist for the better part of his existence, then feel free to get back to me. [emoji57]

haha i dont think its gonna be the case. I'm just getting really really really sick of hearing that im somehow not "allowed" to hate him just cause he donated $10 millions to sick kids. Sure it's generous and great and Im glad he did it. Im super happy for the kids just as im super happy for the education the kids got in Atlanta... That doesn't mean i HAVE to like those guys.

Hate him all you want man, if Lundqvist did the same thing I'd still hate him (in the hockey sense), but I'd acknowledge what an admirable and generous act it is to donate that kind of money to such a worthy cause.

Can't a guy be a nice guy?  I mean he just said he's giving 10 MILLION DOLLARS to a charity and it has to be about a tax write off and trying to get a captaincy?  He was probably gonna get it anyway but we don't have to cheapen a great gesture to making the community better.

Great on Subban.  This was a young guy that was widely considered a problem person and seems to have turned it around.  Much better of a guy than what a lot of asked around here to trade for that uses his money to keep possibly a possibly accosted woman quiet who was drafted the same year.

Also seems that Subban gives his time to this Children's Hospital and for that I applaud him.

And speaking of Lou- @FriedgeHNIC: TOR announces it has traded for Michael Grabner

@FriedgeHNIC: In exchange: Taylor Beck, Carter Verhaeghe, Matt Finn, Tom Nilsson and Christopher Gibson

So the Leafs got Grabner for a pile of junk basically.

Well see Grabner not in our division and not playing us 5-6 times a year anymore right there is taking away about... 10-15 breakaways against us per season

I think there might be some hope for Matt Finn who put up Severson like numbers in junior.  Didn't seem to be that impressive in his first year in the AHL though.

@simmonssteve: Leafs have become the first NHL team to have pushed the team broadcasters off the team charters. b310abec3b6383f1bc4bf53b3fb429d5.jpg

It's a Lou measure...but I don't really think it's an appropriate move. John Davidson once told me that the more access they get to the players the better, the more interesting tidbits and factoids they can put into the on air broadcasts and make it more entertaining for the viewer. So really it's something that helps the broadcasters do their job. And the players like it too because often they will pick the brains of an ex player commentator on the flight. Mike Richter would constantly be talking to JD about his positioning or whether it seemed like shooters were trying to exploit a weakness...

fyi this was at one of those Rag casino night events my ranger fan bro in law took me too. Basically JD was asked how he prepares for broadcasts

More on Lou putting up his rules in Toronto. It's 2015 dude. let it go.

Take your own advice and let Lou go, lol.

Seriously, I'll give you that certain mentalities run their course, and I'm sure the current Devils who've been here for a while probably don't mind the "new order" Devils and seemingly more relaxed atmosphere one bit...but who knows, with the way things have been up in Toronto, maybe (not saying definitely, but maybe) this helps them a little up there.  Maybe that team needs that kind of a shock and change in culture.  I posted about this before, but sometimes you see a cycle:  disciplinarian, players finally have enough, player's coach, players love him, players turn into fat cats, back to disciplinarian.  Round and round we go.

i mean if its the army or something were the whole organization does it. it sucks but alright. But imagine working for some franchise like... Canadian tires. All the franchises are the same but the ONE you work at. You can't have beards. You're getting paid the same money, you work the same hours and everything than all the other employees in the other stores around your city. But you have to be clean shaved all the time and you see all your buddies working at other locations being able to do what they want. it sucks.

If it would be a curfew or i dont know... a strict diet or god knows... SOMETHING that could possibly affect your work. Sure go nuts with the rules. But being clean shaved or not is not affecting a players play at all.

Why would the Blackhawks trot him out in front of the media right now? It's unbelievable how stupid and tone deaf these organizations can be.

Seriously. The legal battle isn't even over yet so it's not like he can even answer the questions they knew he was going to be asked. What a bunch of morons his agent and the team are for even letting him do that and he's an even bigger moron for agreeing to it.
