Great trade by Columbus... Very confusing for Chicago because it doesn't even provide cap relief as anisimov makes 3.2 mil this year... They must be making another move.

I suspect they might think they can find a taker for Bickell. Dano essentially takes Saad spot. Anisimov takes Richards spot. No plans to bring Vermette back. Sounds like Oduya is a goner from there however. Looks like the threat of an offer sheet and inability to move Sharp for a reasonable return.

Tom Gulitti ‏@TGfireandice:

Shero wouldn't say a lot, but said he did talk to Stan Bowman & Saad's agent about what was going on there before today's CBJ trade

Makes me think Shero still has another trade up his sleeve even with the onboarding of Palmieri.

There is a lot of movement from around the league this summer it seems.  That is a good trade for both sides.  Chicago might have to wait a year or two to see real returns, but they still need to move one of Anisimov, Morin, or Tropp.  See, when the Devils were in cap trouble similar to this with the Kovy deal, we couldn't find a trade partner to save our lives.  I hope Chicago can't figure this cap situation out.

I feel like tomorrow is going to be an interesting day.I think NJ is going to be pretty active, especially for a veteran d-man to complete our core and help the younger guys.

Even though Shero has literally said he's not looking for a vet on D, at least not right away?
