Palmieri is a great addition.  He instantly becomes a right winger that we can depend on to score.  He shoots right, he's fast, he's young, he plays on the right.  There is NOTHING not to like about this pickup.  I don't know how I feel about Belesky unless he's going to be a right wing, he seems like a Clarkson type player.  Here I thought we were going to suck really bad for a few years, but I think Shero is truly making an impact here.  He's left the young defense alone for the most part which I like, and he's been adding forwards who put the puck in the net.  I'm pumped to see these young forwards.

dont really know much about this guy at all, but from seeing his stats and reading up on him he seems like he will slot into our top 3 or 4 in scoring next season with the current roster we have. I hope they can make a trade maybe move out one of the young D for another goal scoring forward we need one more.

Nice move to pickup a guy that based on his history can provide some secondary scoring.  Will be interesting to see if he can do the same with less talent around him.  The expectations will be high and maybe unfair if people have him as anything more than what he's proven to be up until this point.

I think the move for Palmieri is OK considering what we gave up.  I think he has a shot at scoring 20 for us next year, but we really need a 30-40 goal scorer... we have no #1 forward and a guy that forces other teams to plan for and key against.

I've felt that we need one 30-40 guy and one guy like Palmieri to get us back to the playoffs.

Halfway there.

I'd ordinarily agree, but honestly, we need someone to play. If he is even close to NHL ready, bring him on.

I'd disagree with that because we could end up damaging his development. I personally think we're going to suck either way next season and Zacha just became one of our best assets. We have to make sure he's brought up properly.

There's no rush to this rebuild IMO. Two, maybe three years from now we should think about competing again.

Valid point.

I was looking at the available free agents, and I was kind of unimpressed with the list, unfortunately.

Me too, it seems like such a dry/weak year.  I mean, we're getting all excited over guys like Frolik and Belesky.  Nothing against them, but they're not exactly coveted forwards by most standards.
